What im trying to figure out is if the molex left in there will cause the unit not to light up? I solder the wires to the factory 4x4 switch like the diagram.

make sure you got good contact on the solder points and check your polarity.

For those of you that are waiting for there units, i have a slight shipping glitch, i had all my packing material shipped ground and won't be here till friday. I am on vacation from all work next weekend and part of the week. I will have my computer, but more then likely not reply till some time next week, let alone ship anything.
Sorry for the delay, but "all work and no play makes rcbs204 a dull boy"!!!
For technical support, if some of the guys that have successful installs could help me out with the few that need help, that would be fantastic.

    Thanks TW
    B

If it does not work one direction, change the wires around. You won't hurt it if it is backwards. just won't light up.

Let me clarify this red/amber question that is coming up. First off i get over 50 PM's a day right now. So its best to leave the general questions in the thread please. I tested over 50 different LEDS before settling on the reds that i have in the design currently. I completely destroyed one 4x4 switch as i would build a test board, put it in the truck and drive around a bit it took a very very long time to come up with the LEDS that are in there as well as the angle that they are installed. I tried my absolute best in the amount of time provided to come up with a solution that i thought most everybody would be satisfied with for the 1/3 of the cost of the Toyota factory lighted switch. One of the real problems that i ran into was the fitment of the board into the switch. When i offered the product to TW, i thought i could whip it out in a few weeks, well as you all know that turned out to be a few months from product conception to a shippable item. In the engineering world, that is really close to unheard of. I know there are always a few that will not be satisfied, but like i said, i used my own judgment time and money to get this item to the people that were on the original list. With that said, i hope that most that ordered and are still waiting will be satisfied with the somewhat simple solution that i was able to provide to the users of TW. Maybe in the future with some more development time i can move to the high intensity surface mount leds for the stock color. I just did not have the time to to test all the millions of LEDS that are available. I am sure with the correct amount of time i could come up with an exact match. But unfortunately i just don't want to invest that amount of time unless i can sell millions of them!! Well thousands would work!:D:D

Hope that clears that question up!

I only shipped three total to Canada, i want to make sure those three get them before i fill the rest of the orders. I had to fill out USPS customs forms so lets wait and see if they arrive or come back to me for some reason.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!

Okay where is the molex left? In the actual 4wd switch? You need that molex to supply power to the board IF it is soldered to the contacts on the switch. Or the other method is to cut the molex pins off and go right from the board to the green, green/white wires on the AC lights. Pics will help tremendously if you can get some up.

Here is another question from a goober. Sorry. I don't solder so could I just use the plugs that came with the kit and put them into the AC plug like in the diagram for foldering? Wouldn't that send the juice to the PCB? Would it function going that route? Just thinking here. I was going to use the T-taps but have yet to locate any, the auto stores and Radio shack in town don't have them.

    Bice-

You dont have to explain yourself to anybody! you did a helluva job on this project and it turned out great. i love my newly lit 4x4 switch. so what if it a little more red then amber, it still looks stock. and no matter what color it turned out it is still better then the factory color-NOTHING.
