Illuminated my 4x4 switch today. I just used the stock orange and it looks fantastic. Excellent idea!

Copy that. Just finished up. Looks great. And actually wasn't that bad.

I first connected the white and red wires to opposite of you said (by accident) and my air direction light started working again. But the 4x4 light didn't work. So I figured out that I did them backwards. The 4x4 light now works but my air direction light isnt working again. Oh well.

    Thanks again Shannon

    Hey Mitch,
Those are a really common fault.
If you remove the bulb on the AC panel, you can kinda lift the lead on the buld and put it back in and it should start working again.

I had to share this, it was really quite funny! All names have been removed to protect the innocent!!

    Customer:
Hey, I bought one of your illuminated 4X4 switch kits and I am having some weird trouble. Please call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx if you can because I have hooked this thing up exactly as your instructions show but no illuminated switch. I reversed polarity and still no go. I checked the LEDs by hooking them up directly to a battery and they work. What is weird is that I checked voltage on the green and green w/white wires on the A/C wiring harness I didn't get voltage at all. I have an 09 Tacoma Double Cab and my A/C and fan are working properly so what gives? I have tried both the solder method and the T-tap method and I still get nothing. I even tried the green w/black wire because it showed voltage but that didn't work either. Help!!!

    My Reply:
Did you turn on you head lights, and check for voltage? Head lights have to be on.

    Customer:
:eek::eek:That is ALL that it was!!!!!!!!I feel like a putz!!!!!!:eek::eek:
Thanks for the quick response and info. You da man!!!!!

I had to share this one!!
Hope the guy does not get too mad at me!

OK, I got my hardware in the mail today. I thought it would be a while before I was able to get to it but I found slices of time here and there to work on it.

What I ended up with is a mish-mash of other install versions I've seen while lurking around this thread. For the switch part, I ended up running the wires through the "plug" and reinstalling the plug to hold the wires on place. It's sturdy - I'm not worried about the wires coming out.

To connect to the A/C harness, I pulled the pins out and opened the crimped end a bit so I could add the wires from the kit and re-crimp. I am extremely particular and didn't want to expose any wire in the factory harness.

So, no solder and no splice. I love it!

Yes, I did check and everything works as it should. The lights come on (and look great) and dim with the rest of the dash lights and the A/C panel still functions correctly.

Thank you for a quality product. It's refreshing to get something of this quality, but that's because it's MADE IN THE USA!!!
