I just got my lighted switch panel today, very fast delivery and in a perfect package. I used the install docs and pics on the thread and it was easy easy to do. It took me about 30min, I already knew how to use the sodering tool so it was easy. Installed and it worked as expected. So far no probs I will update. Below are pics of the final product. Thanks for the great product and fast delivery.

    Before install no lights:

Just placed my order and am stoked about finally having that damn switch lit up. Blue #s and Amber arrow I thought would look pretty good. Great idea and thanks for coming up with this. Will be looking forward to getting it installed.

Just FYI: Another option on doing the Illuminated 4X4 switch is to actually replace the factory switch with an already lit switch from a 4 runner (where most people get the parts they need to retrofit the Tacoma switch anyway). A pic of the 4 runner switch, which is already setup for being lit, installed into my tacoma: Just need a dremel and some epoxy to make it look and function great:

Actually, after looking at the LED panel sold by rcbs204, if that had been around when I did my mod, I'd have gone that way for sure. LED lights in whatever color combo you want for like $30. Can't beat it! Go that route.

I agree with homer, that is a bit clunky. But it served the purpose, when there was no other option available.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Which is the reason he developed it. Less money, easier install and custom to boot. Best deal imho.

Hey this is an open forum, you do what you want.
I am merely suggesting you start another thread for this wonderful 2012 solution.
    Cheers,

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!

The following is the first post in this thread, in case you didn't bother to read it before posting....

What do u believe this thread was created for??? It is the "RCBS204 illuminated switch!" thread, so thats EXACTLY what it was created for!! The OP spent ALOT of his time and money developing the solution to a problem Toyota decided to ignore. He has taken the legal steps and has "helped" many people for a minimal amount of money. I believe, along with others I am sure, he has a right to question your post. Please read the previous 83 pages of this thread, and his previous thread b4 you get on his case.

Shannon, nice show of restraint. Open forum, yes. But the OP, you, has a right to dictate what it's about. Use it for what its created for. It's for information about your switch, and subsequent posts relating to your switch (or its concept for DIY'ers). I wouldn't walk into Burger King and order a Big-Mac. :D There are other threads on TW covering the 4-runner switch mod. Or he could have started his own.

So why not start a thread dedicated to your solution? One that can address all the questions, where to buy, how to install, etc instead of cluttering up one dedicated to a different method?

    Show a little respect.

    none yet
    Are you refering to me?
1st off, in case you forgot I offered to help bankroll a 2012 switch to help in this project for a 2012, as of yet you haven't taken me up on it.
2nd The 4 runner switch is at this time a maybe fit for a 2012 not a fact.
3rd As mentioned the 4 Runner still requires your kit to illuminate it.
4th I already bought a kit from you for my 2012 even tho at this time I can't use it.
5th Don't get your poop in an uproar about this, as this still has the potential for more demand for your product as long as we can figure out a way for the 2012.
I thought we were all in this together trying to find a way for the 2012 to have a lighted switch.
I just can't understand why you are upset as there is no threat to you or your produact rather there is potential for an increased demand for the product.

Didn't mean to offend you as I thought we were after the same outcome.

    Merle
