Lets move on here guys, and cut all the drama.
I have sent Pm's to all parties involved, and this issue is no longer.
Thanks for all the support from those that know me well.
We will just leave pages 82 and 83 in the past.
    Thanks,
    Shannon

Edit: i guess it is just page 83! :D

Point of clarification. . . . you would not/do not need rcbs204's kit to illuminate the 4 runner switch. It is already made for illumination . . . just need to connect wires.

Ist order is to figure out how to remove the switch from the 2012 as I have tried and it is not as easy as I had hoped.
Used needle nose pliars and could move it in and out about 1/16 and it has a solid positive stop when pulling on it.
    afraid to pull too hard.

after you pull the little ring off , there are 3 clips that you have to simultaneously have to pull down to get it out with some small pick's. i have gotten it about half way out and decided not to go any further since i didnt have any led's. to install one in just the knob all you have to do is pull the knob off and adhere an led inside the knob and fish the wires through the small opening in the switch, im looking for a single white 12v led with about a foot of wires attached, thats what i was asking the OP about

    edit:
sweet, i dont think it would be that hard if you use my cheap above method lol

I used a couple of picks and removed the round plate fairly easy. BUT removing the switch is another story.
There are tabs at 10 and 2 o'clock, depress them and tug a little and the switch will pivot down towards you but there is something at 6 o'clock holding the switch from coming out.
I am under the assumption that the whole panel that surrounds the switch needs to pop off like the 2005-11 does but its a much larger panel, but it fits so tight there are no gaps to get behind to pull on.
I would love to consult a service manual but the closest Toyota dealer is 40 miles from me.
    DAMN

Please tell me where the third tab is as I can't find it, I know it's at 6 o'clock but I can't see it.

I just left the toyota/Chevy dealer, and apparently the 2012 switch is no so easy to get in Montana. So i am still waiting.
Anyway i test drove a brand new Z71 Silverrado, very nice truck.

Will this work on a 2012? I'm sorry, but I did not want to read through 84 pages to find out.

Yep ! But don't hold your breath. Seems it is a lot more difficult then previous models.
