I just received my stock amber kit and I installed it using the soldering method. Finally, that dark abyss that is known as the 4x4 switch is visible. Let there be light! Awesome product and fast service, I applaud you sir.

So will this switch fit the 2012 model or just up to 2011?

    Thanks.

I feel like an idiot. Lastnight I got mine all done using the soldering method. Thought I was following the directions to the "T" but apparently not because now my temperature controls don't light up. The orange light on the a/c button and the orange light on the air flow button light up, but nothing else on the temp control and I believe the radio buttons (fm1, disc etc) don't light now either. Also, my parking lights/side markers don't work. Fogs work. Headlamps work. U guys have any ideas on what I did wrong?

    Yep,
You shorted out the leads, you blew a fuse under the steering column.
Fuse called "Tails" needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the quick response. Might be a stupid question, but once I replace the Tails fuse any idea on what I did wrong that caused it that I need to change before hooking everything back up?

Hard to say, could have just been intermittent short. If it blows right away, i would definitely backtrack your install, to be sure there is no frayed/pinched wires. IF the Fuse is OK, then we will have to do a little more troubleshooting.

Fuse was bad. Just replaced it during lunch and I have temp control lights, parking lights, and tails now. I will go back thru everything tonight and see what I can find. Thanks again for the help.

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for putting up with me....the light came back real quick and I installed it same day. Working fine! Just as an FYI, I scrapped using the splice/crimp method and just jammed the molex ends to the wires in your diagram and voila! Lights are brighter than when I had them crimp connected and and working fine. Ended up using the crimp for a few console led's and they are fine so all is well.

For those wondering whether to pull the trigger on illuminating your 4X4 dial with him; do it.

Woump! Beautiful isn't it....except for the crappy cell pics. Can't believe I waited this long to get this done. Pull the trigger and light that $hit up.

Just wanted to thank you for making these illuminated switches. This helps so much and I'd recommend it to anyone! I don't know why I waited so long to install it.
