RCD club, how many are in?

I would think so, just can't be more than 4.5"

 

Here is a pic of my axle angles. They are not bad, just not as straight as you guys. This is after getting her aligned. I went to a new shop as my buddy couldnt get me into his shop as soon as I would like. Found a guy that seem to really know his shit and was really digging the lift and its quality. Had him take the struts apart and double check they were assembled correctly, and they were.(RCD shorted me a dust boot for one strut so one side had to be taken out anyway.)

so...
1. Strut installed correctly, and correct length based on wobble's info
2. Drop bracket def installed correct, really could not be based on the bolt holes.
They only thing left is the coil spring itself. I bought the truck used with 14k on it. Maybe its not a stock coil? Maybe its stiffer and just doesn't compress as much under the trucks weight?
Idk lol, I'm open to ideas/thoughts. I don't really mind the extra height just debating what I'm going to do in the rear to level it out. I was planning on buying some custom alcans anyway.

after the alignment I'm getting
26.5"-26.75" in the front and 26" in the rear. Doesn't sound like a lot, but you def see she is nose high.

 

put your front skid plate back on to prevent any debris from bouncing up inside the motor. You just have to take hey saw your Dremel to it and trim it a little bit.

 

Its very possible someone installed ome 883 coils on the truck before you got it which would be why your a lil taller in the front.

 

Im going to make a custom one at work. I have a bunch of 1/8" alum sheet at work and I can CNC something cool.

Also I think I recall my salesman saying he knew the prior owner, I'm send him an email and see if he can find out any info on the coil spring maybe being changed prior.

 

Got 5 boxes full of the RCD kit delivered today.
If the wheels show by friday evening install will happen saturday.

Then in a couple weeks ill have time to change the rear blocks to springs and change the front to the Icon coilovers or King still undecided as i like both. Had Icons on my FJ before switching to a TC long travel with kings and both are amazing.

Talked with RCD and asked about the 4/5 inch lift and they explained the weight difference from a regular cab, access cab and a double is the difference in how much lift you actually get so more weight = less lift

I would be interested in hearing more about King or Icon upgrades for this lift when you do it. This is something I am considering in the future.

I don't know why they call it a 4-5" lift. It's confusing. When I talked to them about how much lift it is, they said it's 5" front and 4" rear. I guess it depends on who you talk to there. I have a doublecab and I got exactly 5" in the front (passenger side).

whats your wheel and tire specs? I just ordered my kit today, now im searching for rims and tires.

I have seen it listed on other sites as a 5 up front 4 rear. Would explain mine being nose high lol. I think I'm just going to order a 5" Alcan leaf pack and call it good for now.

 

Based on their specs they should work. if I had planned it from the beginning I would have gone with a 18" rim myself. But the 17 look good too with the larger tires. I had already bought rims and tires the year before. Long before I even thought about lifting.

I was stuck between the Kranks and the Boost.
Ended up getting the Boost 17/9 4.5 BS and -12 offset.
hopefully they don't stick out to far, maybe 1 to 1.5 inches I think.

 

I talked with both King and Icon and they both would have to build them.
King would take 3-4 weeks and cost about $1800 buying directly from them and you would get the remote res.
Icon doesent sell directly to the public and you would need to go through someone of your choice. it would take them 2-3 weeks and cost about $1400 with no remote res.
As for ride quality my only experience is from my FJ, I first had toytec for less than a 1000 miles before switching to Icon. The toytec was a major difference over stock and using the same comparison the Icon was a major difference over toytec. Would i recommend toytec sure if thats what your budget allows or you can't wait to save for some Icons. The Kings were on a TC LT setup and an extremely nice ride.
For those that have already installed the RCD running Bilstein shocks do you still get body roll while turning or does it help eliminate some or all the body roll? This will be the major factor in how soon I replace them.

I have 17x9, 4.5BS, -12 offset. They do stick out a bit, but not too much IMO. It gives the truck a stout look.

Thanks for the info on this. I remember when I had 4 wheeler quads. I was amazed how much difference the ride was when I finally spent the money on a real suspension setup.

I don't notice much body roll with the Bilsteins. It's slightly stiffer than stock. Responsive and definitely an improvement. However, I think the OME shocks/springs gave a better quality ride than the Bilsteins w/stock springs. (Had both Bilstein and OME on my previous truck)

Will 315/70/17 tires fit? I found a good deal on some

 

It will all come down to width and height. Which seems to very slightly from brand to brand. My 295/70/17's come in at about 33.5" x 12" wide. I don't think you want to go much wider than 12", mine have about 1/2" of clearance between the tire and the spindle. Mine don't rub under normal daily driving but I'm sure they would in certain cases off-road.
