Hey guys I have a question for anybody who may know the answer. So I have the RCD 4inch lift kit, as well as a 2.5 inch spacer. I am wanting to upgrade to 6inch coilovers. Would anybody recommend purchasing the 6 inch coilovers, or will that not be compatible with my lift I have. Or would you recommend purchasing a brand new lift kit with coilovers, for example, BDS has a 6inch coilover suspension kit

6in coilovers will work just fine. Call Marie @Headstrong Offroad...she will get you exactly what you need.

7 years on the truck and still going strong. Custom Alcans in the rear is the best setup.

I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a set next year. How much lift did you order for the springs, 4"?

I'm new to understanding lift and suspension kits and this thread has me convinced to go RCD...How would the RCD 4.5-5 lift kit work with ....Icon...
"2016-UP Toyota Tacoma 0-2.75" Suspension System - Stage 9 (Billet)" or would the suspension system need to account for the 4.5 " added by the RCD? Am I understanding that right?

If you want to run Icon coilovers you have to use the longer ones designed for a 6" lift kit. This kit doesn't use a top hat spacer like the other basic drop bracket kits. Its uses full length bilstein shocks so there wouldn't be a top hat spacer to use with the std icon coilovers.

4.5” RCD lift kit. Iron cross front bumper.
Recently purchased my Taco with the RCD 4.5” kit with Bilstein shocks. The rear shocks have been replaced within the last year but the front shocks are old and used. I’m noticing front tire cupping and have decided to replace the front shocks. After reading through this thread I’ve learned the front Bilstein shocks were made special for the rcd 4.5” lift kit. Anyone know of a link where I can buy just the front Bilstein 5100 or similar shocks for the specified rcd 4.5” lift kit??

The front shocks are 5" over stock. RCD calls the lift a 4.5", but it's actually a 5" lift. 5" front, 4" rear.

The part number for the front shocks are F4-BE5-E122-T0. Google that part number and you will find many results. I know Wheeler's Off-Road can get them.

Looks like a 3" block in the rear would level the truck?

It comes with a 4 inch block that comes pretty close to level.

That's what I mean, looks a tad high in the back with the 4" block.

Neither of the installs I did sat high in the back with the included rear blocks (both were 2014 double cabs).

The lift ended up being exactly 5" in front, so it would be easy for you to figure out exactly how much lift you wanted by using a couple of jacks in the front and rear of your truck.
