OP check out an Icon stage 3 lift. This will get you up to 3" of lift and will ride great. Icon has quality components and a lot of the guys with Tacoma run them.

    http://www.outlawoffroad.com/23784/72/223/3772/2009_TOYOTA_TACOMA_4.0_V6_GAS.html

Or you could get a stage 2, and get some cheaper UCAs to use with the lift. This would be a quality, solid lift.

Either that, or the Toytec lift you are looking at would also be good.

    Good luck.

I wonder how the RCD would ride and perform, compared to the Icon stage 3 that I have. Can anybody compare?

I was thinking about going a bit higher, so RCD is an option.

OME 3" lift with 885 coils. OME Shocks with TSB 1.5 AAL. 285/75/16 KM2s. XD Hoss 16" wheels. DDM Tuning 6000K HIDs, H10 6000K Fogs. BHLM. Debaged. 20% tint on front windows.
    Get this
Also do you have a AC or a double cab? Get the 885s for the DC and the top spacers in the kit to make it a 3"

I have the OME kit with 886's and the Dakar rear leafs. It rides stiff but not too stiff. The roads here in Ohio are horrible and the truck takes them and doesn't miss a beat. I got the 886 springs because I have a ARB bumper and M8000 winch. I would imagine that the 885 springs are softer.

I had the Ultimate kit and once I adjusted the CO's it threw off my CV angles and started blowing CV boots. Not to mention the stiff ride and the fact that I can't stand even the slightest ammount of wheel rub. Thats why I went the RCD route.

Ok I never thought this would be so hard. All I want is 3" lift kit Complete kit I have about a price range around 1,000 to 1,200 to spend I'm not going to be doing any off roading just a norm everyday drive to work and to the mall etc just lookn for a aggsive look ... Ok with being said the OME toytec start price at 699 it don't tell me that really gives me a 3" lift ??? But it dose say something about plates for the maximum 3" lift if I bought that lift kit is there something else I need to buy to get the 3" lift ... Sorry I'm dumb when it come to this stuff that's why I'm askn for help ... So just make it simple for me or tell what lift to buy at that price range .... Or is the toytec ultimate the beat rout for me .. Thanks

the ome kit with 885 springs will give you about 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 if you have no extra front end weight. you can add the top plate spacer for a full 3 inches, but you can avoid aftermarket uca and get proper alignment at 2 1/2. you will still be able to fit the tire package with minor trimming.

OP your best bet is most likely the OME kit. Has everything your looking for all in one package. I posted a link a few posts up. Check it out.

    RCD FTW

Closest ride to stock. No CV issues. Plenty strong for the occasional off roader. Same Price as a 3 inch coilover and UCA lift (maybe cheaper than some).

4.5" RCD is what I recommend... jrobson knows what he's talking about... he had the ULK and had some problems then went with the RCD.

I had a mix 3" lift and the ride was rough... plus my 28/70/17 tires rubbed like crazy...

now with the RCD I have 305/65/17 tires and have no problems

any of you guys take this lift on the beach? wondering how it rides on it..and im not talking about the beaches that you take 2wd trucks on either [IMG]

My truck is on the beach everyday..nearly 100 miles a week sometimes on it. Just wondering if i should go with this RCD kit or the OME. I had remote resi Icons on my FJ prior to the taco..but i felt they where overkill

honestly. go with a drop bracket kit. the rcd 4.5" or procomp or fabtech 6". it will save u cv axles and ball joints down the road. i have had a few trucks all with drop bracket lifts and the ride is awesome on them.
