I hope everyone understands that these so called security bolts are great in their intent and will prevent or at least slow down the uninformed/unprepared thief. Those more knowledgeable ones know that the security bolt bit can be purchased by anyone at Harbor Freight, ordered online, etc every day of the week. Next time you’re in a public bathroom restroom stall you most likely will see examples holding the partitions together.

But if you cant get a wrench on the nylock nut on the inside the security bolts will be fine.

Well sorta, the Mille cat one is a weird funky size
At least that’s what it talks about and yes, you could get online somewhere but hopefully slows down a bit. Really that’s all it is, a deterrent… it’s just to hopefully get them to see too much trouble and move onto the next

Picked mine up this week. Pretty easy to install and should work well enough to deter theft which is definitely on the rise around here.

Just installed mine along with the full rci skid plate. Ordered aluminum. The trans plate came with the holes pre drilled. These look to cover enough. Might be able to cut downstream of the cat if they really try but I can't get my hands through the remaining gap near the upstream let alone get up in there to cut.

Just got off the phone with RCI. No Father’s Day sale but a sale is coming up on July 4th. I am taking a trip in my truck before that & had to order the trans skid & cat guards today. He said they’re making another batch right now so I went ahead & pulled the trigger

Any chance these RCI cat skids will be compatible with the Cali Raised setup? I want to protect mine, but I don't want to have to repurchase a new setup.
How tall is the side lip on the RCI transmission skid? Would someone mind measuring theirs for me, then I can see if it could be adapted?

I just scanned this thread to see if this had been answered. If memory serves, the plates are fairly identical but I don't know how the tolerance is for the wings themselves in relation to other parts of the truck.

They do look similar. I suppose I'll wait to see if anyone measures the RCI plate. If not, then I'll probably just chance it and post back what it takes to make it work.

Just ordered my trans plate and cat guard through Truck Brigade via DM. Maybe they will come pre-drilled also since I got the cat guard too. I was looking at the millers and talons cat plate but then think this was a better option.

I just installed the RCI trans skid with cat guards. I have no worries now with my extended family camp/road trip!

Ordered mine through @Truck Brigade for an awesome deal around 4th of july. Just came in yesterday. I put the cat guards on but don't have time to install on truck yet. lol Happy with the quality of it for sure.

I just ordered a set of the RCI cat guards.

I have a CBI skid setup but I think the bend on the transmission skid is very similar.

I’ll let everyone know if it works

We might need a comparison for the Mobtown stuff too. I was looking at getting those RCI guards

Pics? Curious of the placement of the guards left to right with the pre drilled holes

Just curious how much everyone paid for their RCI Cat Guard. Currently they are $127.99 (Raw) and $153.99 (Powder Coated) on RCI's website. Not sure if I should wait till they have a sale.

I got mine "free with transmission plate". Carriage bolts only expose the head, and cutting the heads off is difficult so will be noisy and time consuming.

No catalytic converter guard is perfect, they just make the people move on to the next vehicle.

The RCI PC likely onlt needs a lil nudge.

All of the powder's coating on products I've gotten from them In the last year has had horrible durability and breaks off with the lightest impact (like bumping it with a 10mm hand wrench) ive even had things come pre rusted due to powdercoat being too sparse in some areas.
