Alright i got a bone to pick with you RCI with your 05-15 Tacoma transmission skids. What did i even get here? I have your IFS skid already and i think its very well done and is everythinng it claimed to be, this one has left me a little let down and confused. First its claimed that you have this exclusive design of center gussets for strength, well i dont have those! There are NO bolt protectors to prevent damaging of the bolts, and to make it even better there is no where to put the bolts! I was given some bolts and washers and 4runner/FJ instructions with no me tion of a tacoma, yet this skidplate looks nothing like either of those skidplates. Was i suppose to get a different bag of carriage bolts with nuts or something? Flankly, i feel misled by the pictures on your website as well because if i wanted a skidplate without center gussets i wouldve bought one without them. Anyone else here with a second gen able to post a picture of what they got? Not trying to be an asshole just a little pissed because either something's not right here or im severly stupid. Figured i would post it in here before contacting RCI directly in case anybody can help me out.

Have you tried emailing RCI, or even calling them? That's the best way to go about handling this since they'll need to know information about your order (order number).

I did kind of figure it out as it looks like someone has had the same problem as i did. They got 4runner instructions instead of taco ones. I just ran to lowes and grabbed some bolts and washers and made them guten tight. I will contact them directly though on their misleading wordings and pictures.

UPS is useless. Got one slider delivered on Friday and the other marked as “held for future delivery”. Called and they said the receiver requested it to be delivered at a future date. BS, I AM the receiver. Saturday it says out for delivery, then 8:30pm says “receiver not available -label”. Wrong, I was home Saturday night. Now today AGAIN it’s held under the same reason as Friday. Waiting for them to call me back. I wish they’d stop playing with my stuff, it’s getting annoying. I really hope nothing is missing either now.

@MurderedTacoV2 my transmission skid looks the same as yours (I have a first gen though). Mine also didn’t come with instructions but I called RCI and they talked me through it over the phone (I wasn’t sure where the half moon washers went). They’re a bunch of nice guys and they certainly don’t mind spending time on their customers to make things right. I highly recommend a phone call though, it’s just more personal than text on a computer screen.

Did anyone bail on the group buy? I'd be interested in an aluminum unpainted front skid for 16+ Tacoma. RCI is 2&3 weeks out right now.

Got the email yesterday that my sliders are ready for pickup at RCI's warehouse. :bananadance:

Doesn't look like they're open on the weekends which kinda sucks but I'll make it work. Can't wait to put them on.

Hi, sorry for the inconvenience. Give us a call and we get you all straightened out. It looks we may have accidentally sent you the wrong hardware with your skid plate. Just after the group buy we did end up slightly changing the transmission skid plates to come standard with skid plate center gussets. Prior to the change it was a selectable option. I likely have some left in stock if you'd like some. The proper hardware kit includes button head carriage bolts so the bolt protector rings in that particular location aren't really necessary. Anyway, again sorry for the mishap. Give us a call or email me at sales@rcioffroad.com and I'm happy to get you fixed up. Sorry for the delayed response on the forum.

Got my skids yesterday and promptly installed. BEAST MODE! These things are bad to the bone.
My uncle who owns the shop I put them on at wanted me to go online to whatever vendor I got them from and make sure they know that "this is some good shit."

Installed the aluminum front skid today. Took all of about 20mins, flying solo, with no jack. Solid product and packaged well.

All my items arrived yesterday with the exception of the diff skid which should be here today. Everyone's order should be shipped shortly, cause I bought almost every skid they make.
