RCI metalworks orders

Well I received 1 slider today from Fedex

I thought both were going to arrive but FedEx didn’t load the other slider in the truck!

Looking forward to next weekend install.

 

Weird that they only sent you one slider lol, did they at least give you a tracking number for the second one or do they expect you to ride your truck around town with only 1 slider on ?

 

No RCI sent both separately with two tracking numbers, Fedex looks like they wanted to load up 1 slider today haha! Tracking now says pending delivery for the 2nd slider. for tomorrow

 

Full skid package ordered May 23rd, Aluminum, uncoated. Delivered today. So right on the 4 week lead time.

 

Received the slider, I have to be honest and say I was a bit worried when I saw the box. It had a good size tear and looks like Fedex re taped the box close. Took it out and it looks okay , but no Grade 8 hardware .

 

I have given the large benefit of the doubt yet am still waiting almost 6 weeks for a bicycle rack.
Have contacted twice and was promised it being shipped a great time ago.
Currently feeling scammed although I see good feedback so am confused.

 

I was starting to get worried from reading the tread after ordering my skid.

Surprisingly I got mine in 3 weeks as they said and was packaged really well

 

I was told they are working 6 days a week to try to catch up on orders. Mine shipped without notification and showed up on the front steps.

 

I contacted them twice already, the first time they said that they would try to have my order "squared away and shipped this week", that was last week and it didnt ship. I called them over the phone on Monday agian and they said that they would put priority on it and try to ship it this week before the weekend (we will see if its true), I placed my order for some sliders on 04/24/2020 and their website says that it should take 4-5 weeks but its been alot longer than that already... if it gets to the 3 month mark im calling my credit card company and disputing the charge as "goods not delivered".

 

still waiting on my stuff to ship. I got a “it’ll ship soon”. About 2 weeks ago. So not sure what “soon” means to them. I ordered skids and sliders on May 24.

somewhat regretting my decision to go with them right now.

 

Same boat here except I ordered my sliders on 04/24/2020 so its going to be 3 months soon and their website still says that sliders have a lead time of 4-5 weeks (1 month) but my order has taken 3x that amount of time and still isnt shipped. I wanted to get the sliders installed on my truck before I do other things to it but its taking longer than I thought it would.

Honestly if they cant fulfill the orders that they already have open they should just give a full refund to people instead of making them wait for months longer than the lead time on their website or stop taking new orders so that they can finish the orders that they already have open. On 07/20/2020 (the Monday of the week when its going to be 3 months for me) im going to call them and ask for a full refund if they havent shipped my order yet, if they refuse ill ask my credit card company.

 

I definitely feel bad for everyone who hasn't had their orders fulfilled. During this backlog, I have had two orders placed and two orders shipped. The sliders were a week overdue and the skids shipped on the due date. I didn't get either powder coated which saved money and that seems to be the big constrictor for production with any fabricator. I did check-in and was told they have production working 6 days a week and I am sure they are slowed by the Covid precautions. Even if they take weeks longer than their published lead times, they are still way shorter than Mobtown, CBI, etc. Most people order from RCI for the product quality they are cheaper than the others, with that trade-off, expect customer service to suck. Pick 2, customer service, quality, price, or speed.

 

That sucks. I got my SOS sliders and full skid trio in 5 weeks to my door.

 

RCI called me today on my cellphone to discuss the different shipping options for my address, they said that if I have it shipped to my address if i want liftgate it would be $40 extra if I wanted that service (They recommend a liftgate service because the sliders come on a pallet and weigh 180 pounds), if I picked up the sliders at a Fedex facility though they would refund me $50 from the shipping that I paid and I wouldnt have to pay for a liftgate so I opted for that option. A few minutes after the call I got a tracking number and it already says that it will arrive at the Fedex facility next Thursday.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly from now on, at least the waiting is over since I ordered my sliders since 04/24/2020 and today is 07/10/2020.

 

Oh boy.

Not so much with these guys but I'm shocked tw doesn't temporarily remove some of these vendors when they find delivery times are getting out of hand. Then when they get caught back up / more honest then they get plopped back on the list.

 

it took 9 weeks for your sliders. Dam, I feel like I got lied to when I was told my order would be “shipping” soon. Was told that on June 30 and I ordered May 24.

more mad now lol. You ordered 3 days before me and got your stuff 3 weeks before me and counting lol

 

Yup. The stuff I got too is super solid. I'm a welder but don't have a shop or time any more. This stuff is top notch.
