Not the greatest lighting, but those chain hoops are horizontal there just under the license plate. Very strong and up out of the way. It's a great bumper (although I've considered selling mine to go for a lightweight tube look) :anonymous:

Thanks for posting that up. It’s raining where I live and I was procrastinating about crawling under the truck to snap a photo.

Wish it would rain here. The clouds keep teasing, and then it gets hot again.

Note: I've towed 6000lbs on this RCI bumper just fine. If anyone was wondering about that aspect of it

Yeah....I’m not a big fan of hot and dry. I keep wondering when the weathermen and weatherwomen will stop referring to sunny days as “good weather”, and rainy days as “a turn for the worse”. The planet could use more rainy cool days. That’s the actual good weather.

Any word as to weather or not this is compatible with a 255/85 r16 tire in stock spare location, or what modifications are necessary to make it fit?

Also how hard is it to wire the Rigid lights? I'm not real electrically inclined.

You may need to take a 1/2” off the hitch receiver. It’s only 5 minutes work with an angle grinder and a little touch up paint. As for the lights it depends on how you want to hook them up. You can tie in to reverse lights or have it on its own designated circuit with a separate switch ?

    Weird reflection due to rain.

Hard to see, rear passenger tire is flat (screw embedded in the tread)

Ha! Well super easy way to plug a tire that's for sure. I haven't lifted my truck by my RCI sliders yet.

Maybe over the winter I'll cave in and buy this rci rear bumper. Still drooling over it.. Getting tired of busted up rear plastic chrome crap that I've taken off multiple times to paint and install reverse pods in. Every time I take it apart another clip breaks

Dude the RCI bumper is 110% worth it. There's a post/pic a few pages back of me using it to tow a 3rd gen Ford Explorer. Beast of a bumper, and HUGE bang for buck. Easy install too.

Edit: Dear @RCI, the screws for the cover plates for the reverse lights could be higher quality, ie something that wont rust. Doesn't affect the bumper negatively in anyway, just saying.

Wiring up the lights is super easy. The most difficult aspect is routing the wiring into the cab. There is an existing firewall plug near the brake booster that you can use to get from the engine bay to the cab. All you'll need to do is remove the plug (route the wire through the rubber grommet) and poke a hole in the carpet pad (behind the dash) with an awl. The other entrance is under the drivers seat. While under the truck, locate the floor plug and pull that out to route the wiring from under the truck, up through the hole (under the carpet), continue the wire to the door sill and then take it up through the drivers kick panel.

Buy this kit for the wiring. Has everything you need, accept wire taps.

I placed the switch inside my cubby pocket. See post #123...

FYI to all owners or potential owners. I hated the flip up plate, so I switched it out with two of these...

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/FLEX-O-MAG...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I hated the flip up plate, because if it's in the up position and you lower the tailgate, you'll potentially fuck up your tailgate. Also, if you're towing and the plate is in the up position, it's almost impossible to read. With these magnetic brackets, you can stick the plate to anything that is metal. Lastly, you don't need to drill holes for the plate.

Bummer to hear you don't like the flip up plate. I figured it would lay on a decent angle with a drop hitch, I guess I didn't look at pics closely.

It's actually pretty easy to read, even in the "up" position. No need to drill it super low on the bumper. Also it's nowhere near the tailgate, so not really sure what @Bertw192 is on about :notsure:

I actually had my plate contact my tailgate when I lowered it. Fuck up on my part, but it happened none the less.

Not only that, but I hated having to hold the plate up when connecting my trailer. See the photo below, I'm not towing with a ball.

Fancy off road hitch there. Looks cool.

Almost thought you had a Pyrite Mica 3rd gen there for a second

Has anyone asked RCI if they sell a version without the light cutouts? I don't want the lights and I think the plate looks.. off.
