Only 2 bolts holes have armor around them. The rear bolts on the front skid.

If you all want to donate a complete set of aluminum armor I wouldn't tell you no...just saying this stuff is pure sex...

How well does aluminum hold up to actual abuse? I mean, I know it's lighter weight and will be great for mall cruisers, but what about constantly banging the shit out of it on rocks and actually using it as armor? I'm not much of a materials engineer, but from what I can recollect aluminum doesn't have the same toughness as steel typically which typically means it can't take as much repeated abuse. From what I've seen it also seems to be more difficult to repair and still retain strength like steel can. Does anyone have any abuse banging the crap out of these aluminum skids?

What else are skids used for? I thought their whole purpose was to provide protection from rocks and stuff when off roading? Could you please clarify and help me understand please, thanks!

When is there going to be a group buy on these? The ones it comes with are pretty useless.

Called Josh this AM at RCI, asked him about shipping times, not a long wait. He sounds very astute. I placed an order two weeks ago, hope to see shipping info this next week as my credit card thru Paypal has been billed already.
First day of retirement today. :)

Can't speak for the 2016's (though they seem to be extremely similar to 2nd gens). But I can say my Pelfreybilt front bumper and my RCI front skid plate do work together. HOWEVER - not completely.

Where the front skid bends up to a 90 degree at the front causes issues with the Pelfreybilt bumper mounting flush against the frame of the truck for me. In order to get my bumper to mount flush I'll have to find someone to use a torch or something to cut that front lip off the RCI skid plate.

As seen in the photograph above the Pelfreybilt bumper is resting against the skid plate itself. Further up above where it bolts to the frame I had to put washers in so act as spacers for the bolts that hold the bumper to the frame. Because of this my bumper isn't mounted completely flush/level as it should. It's off by just about the same amount as the thickness of that lip on the skid plate.

That being said - RCI skid plates are BEEFY! You can see "rust" spots on mine where I've scraped the powder coat off while 4 wheeling in the SNOW with a local Jeep group. Can't always see the rocks beneath the snow. :)

Got any picture of the full setup? I have RCI skids in order and I'm heavily leaning towards a Pelfrey front bumper

We are getting seriously close to doing our first big batch of rear bumpers, now that we have THOROUGHLY tested ours out in Moab, Texas, and Colorado ;) Shoot me your info if anyone is interested in getting on our waitlist for one of these.

This of course is for the 2016 only at this point...

Do they include the lights and a license plate bracket? What kind of lights are they?

Any issues with the 4 sensors in the bumpers that you've seen?

    How much with powder coat?

I'm guessing BSM doesn't work with this bumper? Seems I've read the all metal bumpers make it difficult for the sensors to detect objects. Not sure if that's 100% accurate or not.
