Says the skid will not fit a 2wd truck

How big of a deal is an exhaust reroute? Do you have to buy a kit and then find someone who can weld an exhaust pipe, and can any competent welder do it? Or, do you just take it to a muffler shop and cross your fingers? I'm trying to decide on the transfer skid plate. I would prefer to have the reroute, but welding isn't my forte, but I do know people who can weld.

Finally, if I have the TRD Pro front skid and I get all the skids minus the one @ChadsPride mentioned above, am I still good, or will I need to have a custom piece made to fill a gap?

Damn! I would then have to use my verbal skills. Like welding, verbal skills aren't a forte of mine.

 

Anybody know why they wont fit a 2wd?

 

I went to an exhaust shop near me in Philly. I paid 150 I think. done in an hour or so.

 

What I got from them ..

“Thank you so much for being interested in our products.

However, unfortunately our products will likely not fit because we use factory mounting locations for our skid plates and since your vehicle doesn't have front differential the cross member on your vehicle is in a completely different location that the 4x4 models. You might try BudBuilt, Pro-Comp or Skid Row. They may have something that will work with your vehicle.”

Well, pulled the pin. Sliders, bed rack and a full set of skids (minus the front skid). A bit lighter in the wallet after this one.

I'm sure it was just an accident. But I ordered a transmission skid with the added support braces. One of the bolts that secures the support braces has no threads . Any way I could get a replacement?
