Here is a quick sketch of the design of the Tacoma DCSB. 80” is about all you can do before you start hindering the strength of the rock slider. You either miter the tubing on the ends to gain length but then you compromise the strength of the box tubing. And in doing so, the gained length is unsupported which makes a poor moment arm which will flex into the bed and/or pinch seams. It has nothing to do with shipping as to why the length of the slider is what it is. It’s the design of the trucks cab, fender and bed as to how it’s shaped and how it sits on the chassis.

Also someone else accused me of schilling because I posted longer sliders from another company. There were a few of you here that kept asking for proof that another company makes true full length sliders.

I wasn’t going to make this thread until I met up with other Tacoma owners in the area and they brought it up to me. Everyone agreed RCI sliders are short and there’s room for improvement.

I don’t know if I will share my findings in the future here if this is the way we treat our members that are trying to help others.

Also, I noticed quite a few of the argumentative people here are some of the cheerleaders in the RCI group buy. Why? Something isn’t adding up here.

    I’m done with this thread.

You have valid concerns and questions about the product in general. That’s what this forum is for. For others it’s a faceless mouthpiece to spout off. Don’t let it get to you. Let’s get back to talking Scotch Whiskey!

I have RCI’s skid trilogy and love it. But when shopping for sliders it was obvious that theirs were shorter than other options. Another thing that draws people to RCI is their lead times are short, so I almost went with their sliders just for instant gratification vs. waiting 14+ weeks for my BAMF sliders. I was looking at BAMF and Mobtown as they had longer, more robust designs. BAMF did a group buy and that sealed the deal.

So I like RCI overall and will continue to buy stuff from them when it meets my needs, but as I stated earlier, you didn’t do your due diligence and notice something that myself and others found to be pretty obvious when shopping for sliders. Then complaining about it after the fact is a pretty surefire way be the recipient of a TW dogpile.

It’s all in good fun though, laugh it off and try to have some fun back at the dogpilers expense.

You say you pay a lot of attention to detail... So look at the pictures on that website you posted then look at your sliders on your truck and tell me that is 9". Also look at what everyone has been saying about the long bed slider length. Just shy of 90". Sounds like white knuckle makes sliders that are too short and useless for long beds!

Edit: Sometimes websites have different pages for different variants of products. I should look into that more often.

When I happened upon this thread I really wanted a nice set of sliders for my 2016 Access Cab.

After reading 18 pages, I don't want sliders any more...

Here's my 4xinnovations weld-ons. First mod I ever did. Only 280 shipped and way more coverage than some mentioned earlier.
