OP believes he’s going to score a date with a non-RCI fanboy?

Funny stuff. You guys are all right. Thanks for making me laugh at myself.

Well since I’d be laughed at on the trails with partial sliders you think I can put them in my chicken coop as a perch for the chickens?

I'd like to thank everyone involved in this thread. As a manufacture, we take all input from customers and try to grow with it.

I'm not here to defend RCI, but only to shed some light and also learn from comments here.

I don't believe we list our lengths (I will below) but that's something I will be changing on our website. When we are designing sliders there a few factors that we use to determine the length of sliders.

#1 goal is protection, so for us they have to be the right length, too long and you could run into factory fender flares or aftermarket flares, you can also run into custom application issues with fiberglass fenders and or large tires. The Toyota body on frames move a lot too and we have seen way more cases of sliders too close to the body and hitting than damage from lack of too long of a slider.

#2 Realistic goals and standards of a slider, we feel our sliders are very strong, we use the materials and designs that we have adopted over the years of testing to produce the sliders we make today. We often use more supports than some manufactures and gusset them differently to produce the strongest and lightest product we can. They are "sliders" though and not intended to "drop" on obstacles. You can, and many do, but the design behind sliders is just that, to slide over or grind over obstacles.

#3 shipping, everyone wants a custom slider that goes tip to tip till the shipping cost comes in. Our tundra sliders are very popular because I believe they are one of the longest in the industry (that's what we are told) but the shipping cost is excessive IMO.

#4 cost, I think I read that someone would pay extra for a custom made slider to the length of their truck. unfortunately it's a fine line of cost and value that determines things like length, design and application. Us manufactures are caught in a market where business with employees, paid leave, 401k's, paid medical and massive amounts of overhead are compared to a guy in his garage or a guy working out of his uncles automotive garage making sliders. Everyone wants a deal, we get that. but when you pay for product from an established company you are paying for that knowledge you are paying for those years of listening complaints like this and growing from them.

I believe education and research into a product helps net the best results for your purchase. We've been beat up before like this about lack of information on our website. It's helped us grow, things that we just thought were common sense in the industry are not. Our descriptions of products have gone through changes over the past couple of years. Our customers have changed as well. When we started off, bolt on wasn't really a thing, we were really one of the first to push for it. All sliders use to be welded onto the truck, now they are bolted on. There is a certain amount of buyer responsibility that manufactures have become accustomed to. It's threads like this though, that help give us pause and go, well he has a point I guess I should fix that, so the next guy knows that.

So Thank you to all who gave their 20cents on this thread:)

    95.5-04 Tacoma sliders 80"
2005-2019 sliders 84-85" depending on style.

    Thank you.

Thanks for speaking up and giving your opinions.

I agree 84-85” would be an ideal length for the Tacoma (not the DCLB) when the distance between wheel wells is 90”

How did I miss this beauty of a thread?!.. I fully stand with OP on the deceit aspects of his posts. Being deceitful about anything, even the smallest bit of information, is completely unacceptable... which is why every time I meet a new lady-friend, before getting her first name, I always disclose the length of my "slider", just so she has ALL of the information that she needs before purchasing.

Currently in California "Engineer" by itself isn't regulated as far as I know. Various titles, such as "Civil Engineer", "Mechanical Engineer", "Professional Engineer", are regulated and you can't call yourself one of the protected titles unless you're licensed as such. I'm not sure how long it's been this way. It's in the PE act.

It goes both ways. Show me yours, I will show you mine works too. Nothing worse than throwing a hot dog down the hallway and occasionally hitting a wall.

OP I didn't read this whole dumpster fire of a thread BUT the warfab sliders look like they might be what you are looking for.... I don't know any dimensions but on pictures they look long... likely what I'm going for when I finally pull the trigger and they are local-ish to me. I follow them on instagram and there are lots of pics. I can't remember the username on here off the top of my head. I have the access cab as well

    edit-- @In4aride is the guy

In summary: We have learned the some folks like it longer and some folks are OK with shorter.

So how about a group hug? Come on....

Now he’s got jokes. Time to move on. It was fun while the whining, accusations, blame, counter accusations and exposition was entertaining. Full coverage or just the bare minimum, we all have our opinion. Choose wisely.

So I can use an ignore tool to never read another of OPs posts again? Done.

I can understand his point, but not his entitlement. "I shouldn't have to read or ask questions". Ummm.....you have a third option......don't buy.

Reread my first post and see if you can figure why I posted it. None of your comments address that post. It absolutely had nothing to do with complaints about the damage nor the manufacture of the sliders. BTW - we had less than an inch clearance on either side and decided to to see if we could make it through. I was very lucky to only have that minimal damage.
