If this is what you are getting them for then it probably doesn't matter which you pick. Just get the ones that are the cheapest. None of the other particularities are really even important for your use case.

RCI 5 degree Rock Sliders, Clazzio Leather Seat Covers, Tacoma Door Sills, Tacoma Rubber Bed Mat, WeatherTech Floor Liners, WeatherTech Mud Flaps, WeatherTech SunShade.
RCI definitely seems to have better deals going on with their 15% off sale and shipping from them would costs me $248.92 instead of the $482.85 shipping that it costs me for shipping if I ordered from CBI directly instead of Tacomabeast.

Ive never done that before but that sounds like a good option, some stores also charge less shipping if you ship to a business instead of a residential address. I might look into that if it saves me money on shipping.

Id most likely have them powder coated because I dont have a good location to paint them at where I live right now and if I try to paint them outside they might get dirt and other junk on them while im painting them. Its pretty cool how SOS lets you choose the angle you want, id go with a 0 degree angle.

Sounds like a pretty bad situation to be placed in, thanks for the heads up.

Sadly they hit me with a double whammy of taxes + shipping costs for sliders if I want to order from them:

    sliders_d98b0e41a7d3af31ebc1f429fee78faf0bc3921f.jpg

I guess they must be based out of Florida.

Thanks for the reassurance on them, I was a bit hesitant since they seem like a newer company than CBI but it looks like their eating CBI's lunch with their sales :D

Thanks for the awesome pictures :) they look a little less wide than the CBI sliders but that might be because of the 20 degree angle on the ones that you have on them.

Honestly I liked the CBI ones better because they looked like a company that has been around for a longer period of time, I like the way that their products look, and they seem to be pretty involved in the Tacoma off-roading scene. I dont like to mix hardware from different companies on the same truck so if I get RCI sliders then in the future I would probably get an RCI front bumper, RCI rear bumper, RCI skid plates, etc. I guess by creating this post I was looking for either someone to reassure me that RCI quality is the same as CBI or for someone to push me over the edge to pull the trigger on the CBI stuff that I wasnt sure about because of the $482.85 shipping costs that it costs for me to receive their sliders if I ordered directly from them. I was looking for a push in one direction or the other.

The RCI sliders has an identical installation to the CBI sliders if I remember correctly, neither of them require drilling, cutting or weird L bolts that some other companies use thats why I had narrowed down my choices to those two companies (difficulty of self installation is a big selling point). I had heard that CBI was around way before RCI but RCI seems to be the new kid on the block with better deals so I was wondering about their quality and if anyone had any experience with their products.

They look a little less wide too compared to the CBI sliders, meaning they have less of a step surface area (at least from the pictures that ive seen so far).

Thanks for the feedback, im leaning more towards the RCI sliders because of price, the only thing holding me back is that I think that they might have a smaller step surface area than the CBI sliders but ill try sending RCI an email to ask them how large the step surface area is on their sliders.

Thats pretty good advice, no point in spending an extra $300+ on sliders that look almost identical because of brand letters if both sliders are made out of the same material and have similar installations.

I selected another company, but i will say RCI is a good product.

I really just wanted to come in here and shit all over CBI as their customer service is garbage. You will have good luck with demello, rci, mobtown, relentless, pretty much anyone over CBI.

    (I own cbi sliders)

I contacted RCI about shipping to Hawaii and there customer service was perfect and fast.

There videos are super straight forward so install is easy.

    options for angles is great.

super strong as far what everyone says.

and they have the best deals right now.
I’m going with rci skids and sliders there bumpers look awesome too. I like CBI but there website is harder to navigate and it seems like they have slow service.

Just my 2 cents. If your going to spend 700+ bucks on something you want it to last.

The surface is going to be determined by the angle. 5 degree are going to offer more step space than 20 degree (although, if you just want a step, get a step -- sliders are not and have never been a step, and will not be as good for steps as actual steps). (the point of my photo was to show how the 20 degrees "tuck in" and don't stick out)

A friend of mine has the 5 degree sliders from RCI on his 4Runner. They stick out slightly more, are slightly flatter, and perhaps are a better step. But, ultimately, sliders are shitty steps and anyone who tells you different is kinda lying.

I'll bite. I don't like steps. Our trucks sit too low (even with a 3" lift) so it's like a weird half step onto them and another awkward half step into the truck. Do I think everyone feels this way...no. But I don't have a bad hip and knee either. Using my sliders, I'm able to step up to the height of the truck before trying to get in. It's a similar advantage to regular steps, but at a higher height that feels more natural to me.

TL;DR - I think sliders are fine steps even at 20°. Are they better than regular steps for most people, probably not. Do they make it easier to get in the truck for me, yes absolutely. Do I think everyone will agree, no.

I said "kinda." :) Honestly, my take is this: I don't step on my sliders to get in or out of the truck. I step OVER my sliders and get my pants dirty by dragging them on the slider. ESPECIALLY getting out of the truck. It's a common complaint; I didn't invent it. For most guys I know, it just creates this awkward "step-over" ledge that is not convenient to step on, nor is it convenient to step over. People that are trying to sell it to their wives as a step for their kids; they do what they gotta do to build the truck they want... but... ehhhh.... I only have one vehicle. This is my fun truck and my daily driver truck, and I make compromises. I live with the consequences.

But, yeah. I mean, if not for the 'Rona, I'd say that I live in Northridge, CA, and if someone nearby wants to step in or out of my truck, call me in a couple months! LOL

Quite a few things at this point..
I love my RCI sliders. I personally found them aesthetically more pleasing and better benefits for the price

Thank you everyone for the kind support. We do everything we can to provide what we think is the best quality product out there at a very competitive price. All our sliders are precision cut with our fiber laser for 100% accuracy and perfect fitment. They get built with DOM outer tubing standard for superior strength vs. HREW tubing, a 2"x2" square main rail instead of a 1.75" round tube, four support legs with 1/4" gussets, a full length frame plate for strength vs. small support leg pads, an additional attachment bracket for extra strength and optional drilling holes if one desires to add even more attachment. All these features give the RCI rock sliders a serious amount of structural integrity to support the weight of the truck in an off-road situation or to be used as a step. The optional powder coating finish is done in house with a thorough process consisting of deep cleaning, an epoxy primer layer and a u.v. resistant lightly textured powder coat. The optional tread plate is full length, dimpled from the bottom up for traction and while it makes an excellent footing platform it also is a wonderful shield to protect your rocker panels and doors from road debris and rock chips. With a choice of a 5 degree or 20 degree angle, your sliders will perform at an angle to your desired needs.

(OP) The sliders for your long bed will need to be shipped Fedex freight. We will be in touch to get your address and discuss shipping options and pricing.

Again, we appreciate all you members out there. We are currently running a "springtime" sale for 15% off. Those looking to get #rciarmored take advantage of the sale!

Love my RCI rock sliders. First item I purchased before getting my new 2020 OR. These are 20 degree powder coated by RCI and Installed all by myself.

Packaged perfectly in 2 boxes each weighing 65lbs (79x19x6"). Took 7 days by Fedex ground shipping to me here in Canada.

So that's the weight of each slider? That good ind thank you. CBI webpage mentions 150 lbs. I guess weight it's also part of the equation.

I bought the RCI and have been happy. They have been used and held up great. I also bought their bumper and skids after the sliders. I have a CBI hidden winch mount and was unhappy that there were zero instructions available. Sent an email and received nonresponse. On something that bolts on, needs to be 100% solid, and has a fair amount of parts removal, that's not ok.

I installed these on the weekend, yes you need to remove those parts. Good luck getting the carriage bolts between the transmission skid and transfer case skid tight, I had a heck of a time getting a wrench on them. Maybe there's a better tool I need to get...
