I don't like the buldge on the RCI.
CBI claim they have a flush tranny plate for those who have a re-route, but it's not listed on their site that I have been able to see.

I was stuck between steel and aluminum and this made me feel better about going aluminum!

Glad I could help! FWIW, I know some people absolutely despise Aluminum skids since they can get caught up on some rocks. Personal preference. I'd still buy aluminum to keep weight down regardless and have never gotten caught up- that's what low gears and throttle is for! I've bashed in my front RCI skid plate from a hard landing after an (unexpected) jump on a forest service road. Nonetheless, still was able to protect my front diff no problem. You can sort of see it in this photo... I turned up the brightness so it's a bit better. Another benefit- doesn't rust!

EDIT:I hit so hard I bent one of my rear wheels to the point where it wouldn't hold air pressure. Quick and easy fix with alloys... Lesson learned: don't jump the truck when aired down and don't land perfectly on a rock!

You hit it hard enough to dent the wheel and the skid survived? Damn. Unless the wheel took the brunt of it

The front skid slammed first into an extruding boulder... kinda surprised the airbag didn't go off, and the rear followed down onto a rock, bending the wheel. No structural damage to the sub-frame of the truck or front diff mounting points.
