Made a tiny bit of progress this evening. Not much, but it's a start. Changing spark plugs on the 2.7 is only slightly more time consuming than the 4.0, only because you have to remove the air intake to get to # 3 and 4.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say these were original to the truck.

This showed up on a big brown truck mid plug change. Lube for days!!! That's enough to do the engine twice, both diffs, transfer case, and the transmission.

Changed engine oil/filter, both diffs, and the T-case this evening. A few observations.

Whoever designed the oil filter location for this engine is an asinine nincompoop who deserves a dick punch and a stubbed toe daily for life.

Make sure you point your can of PB blaster toward the bolt you intend to spray rather than at your face. It does not feel good in your eye.

Working on a stock height truck pretty much sucks.

Planned to install my wheel spacers today and have the tires mounted tomorrow. Whoever mounted these wheels last apparently used an impact to take out their frustrations on my lug nuts. I had to drive my socket on them with a hammer, use an impact to loosen them, and then use a punch to separate the nut from my socket. Let's just say, they're done.
    :annoyed:

I ordered some steel lug nuts I remembered @Crom said he was pleased with.

So until they arrive my truck is immobilized on jack stands. I did manage get the front two spacers on.

Sorry about the deformed nuts. Terrible design. I think they do it for corrosion resistance. I've heard that if you cut the chrome sleeve off there is perfect smaller steel one inside.

There seems to be a discrepancy between where you all think this build is going, and where it's actually going (grocery store). I can promise you this. It will be the most badass non-DD grocery getter in the entire Save-A-Lot parking lot.

The good news is... Front suspension, wheel spacers, and lug nuts are on, and the sway bar is gone. Rear happening as soon as I get some time.
