Can get a supercharger for about $3k, more if you include fuel mods.

this is highly subjective particularly if you're constipated all the time

Weight at the wheels is one of the best ways to guarantee power and mpg loss, not much you can do but try to mitigate it best you can with lighter wheels, lighter tires, go easy on the armor add ons if you have any, easy on the throttle, etc.

Putting big heavy tires on these little trucks, you just have to accept that there's going to be a trade off to some degree.

Thanks for the tip abeyance.. where do you recommend I look? Craigslist, EBay?

Thanks Eon. Believe me, I’ve looked at superchargers, namely the TRD “bolt on”.
Just feel like it’d be double $3k after install plus all the added parts needed to make the SC work on my 96.. ECU, intake, fuel pump, etc.

Ah, yeah didn't see you are a 96...yeah the ECU would have to be swapped. Boost is a rabbit hole of money on it's own so its wise to assume it would be more than $3k, because from my experience it is lol. A lot more. Not to mention needing to use premium fuel when you fill up

@TaCody96 keep an eye on the buy sell trade portion of this website, gears come up every so often.

Otherwise there's a great website called car-part.com that will give you a list of wrecking yards in your area that'll show inventory of what you're looking for. Some yards will pull the parts for you, some won't. But the site includes the yards info so you can call and confirm with them

oh yeah. V8! lol Tundra engine. But - on a serious note I am going to 4.56 and have the 285 tires. 5 speed. 3.4. I do travel a bit in it. I have driven a 2001 with that setup and it was definitely not bad. For wheeling - it's pretty nice. My rear end (3.90) is getting a little noisy so I will be upgrading all the gearing to something else. True trac in there as well. Got rid of the open diff and that changed the behavior a ton. Especially in the ice crap.

What about just keeping two set of wheels and tires. One stock to run the crap out of and one set that you like to wheel or show off!

Throw the tires on and wheel it for a while and see if you need to regear. Nothing will change if you don’t do it all at the same time

also if you stick with c-load range tires, your perceived power loss will be much less than switching to overkill e-range tires
