Anyone that has re geared their truck which route did you guy take? Buy the lockers and gears separately or buy pre assembled diffs and just swap them out and send your cores in? Just seeing what would be more cost effective. Also if you have any links on purchasing these parts for a good price please let me know. Thanks

It depends. How much of the work can you do?

To answer op’s question: if you’re as competent as your best local mechanic, just do it yourself. It’s difficult, but you’re not cutting or welding anything, you just have to be smart and organized. If you have a reputable shop nearby that specializes in diff work, and you can afford it, have them do it. I happened to live 45 minutes from ECGS and had ARB lockers installed while getting 5.29s put in. They’re experts and offer comprehensive support and warranty, it was very expensive to get that work done at the time, but I got a different truck back when they were done.

I did ECGS pre-assembled diffs here. Make sure to call the order in.

    All of them.
Ecgs pre assembled with ARB locker. No special tools needed to swap them out and you know they are set right.
