I know this is alittle old but I have a question might be alittle stupid. Can you regear the rear and wait on the front?

Yes you just cannot engage 4x4 since your rear gears will not match the front gear ratio and will cause issues with the transfer case.

Quick question - Suppose I regear and proceed through the 500 mile break in period. Is the front diff fluid going to be critical to change after the 500 miles given that the gears aren't receiving any action in 2WD as opposed to the rear diff? Can't see why the front oil would need to be changed for break in if they're not being worked unless in 4WD.

    Thanks in advance

Nah I wouldn't worry about it.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but it depend if yo have manual or auto hubs. I thought with autos your front diff is always spinning where with a manual your hubs need to be locked in order for the diff to spin

2nd gens have no hubs only ADD which disconnects one side and will keep your carrier from spinning, it would spin if both sides stayed locked together. With the one side uncoupled it only ends up spinning the coupler and the sidegear on the non add side. Unless this thing saw a lot of 4wd action or was AWD I wouldn't worry bout it.

I just put in 4.10'a and now abs/traction/stability control are showing lights and even a check engine light as well as speedometer stays at zero. There are only three codes all related wheel speed. Has any one successfully spoofed ABS? Is there a module or box out there that will solve this and speedometer?

I would check all of your ABS wires you disconnected during the swap.

I called east coast gear supply and they said something to that same effect too.
