I'm thinking of purchasing a Detroit Locker trutack for my 2004 SR5 3.4 dbl cab. Not sure which gears are in it now. Should I re gear when I do this mod? If so what should I change to? Im looking for more power at the rear when I need it. Also, Can anyone recommend a better or similar unit to the Detroit? Thanks!

What size tires? if you have stock and are looking for more power get 4.56 and if you have 33's and up get 4.88's.

    Look at build!
You wont need to re-gear just because your adding a locker. but if you do regear then also remember that you will have to regear the front as well since your 4x4... and as for hte ratio dont even mess with 4:56 go straight to 4:88 imo, thats what ill be doing sometime soon hopefully lockers front and rear

What size tires?! If they are oversized compared to stock, definitely regear! - It will be the best decision you can ever make (absolutely for ur truck and and maybe even for your life haha)
