Re-gearing 3rd gen

Anyone here know of someone or a shop in west Texas/New Mexico.. maybe Colorado that would do good work on a 5.29 gear job?

 

I don’t but I’m debating 4.88 vs 5.29...curious your thinking on 5.29?

From my research and little bit of understanding..

4.88-
Not towing
Not driving in any mountains
Stock tires

5.29-
towing
Mods that have added a considerable about of weight.. like
bumpers tents..etc
Driving more hills/mountains at higher speeds.
Larger tires 33s+

I think the 4.88 will get you slightly better gas mileage than the 5.29 but whatever one you go with it’s going to shift better and extend the life of the tranny so idk. I’m sure someone here will argue all that but I’m not super knowledgeable on gearing which is why this is one thing I’m willing to pay someone to do.
