Just got back from getting my truck re-geared to 4.56.
Mostly did so in that I will be towing a small trailer out west a lot (I hope) in the near future.

Originally decided against it, but then got a new set of tires... went to 265/75/16's and was surprised at how sluggish the truck was with only a slightly larger tire. So revisited the re-gearing option & decided to go with it... Had already placed my order when I saw the discussion for the 4.30.

The trip was a bit painful on the way home due to the break-in process for the re-geared diff's (requires a lot of stop & cool periods & varying your speed). When doing the planning I didn't think about having to do a break-in. The driving part was good... as expected with the calculator tool... 2500 rpm at 70, which was still a nice purr. At 75 still a nice fairly mild purr at about 2750 rpms... Interestingly, when tested out RPMs in 4th (as that will be what I tow in) 62mph was at 3100... which is a bit higher than I prefer, but will see how it really is when I start towing... It is not sluggish anymore-still not a hot rod either :). But it did get up my fairly steep driveway a lot easier.

You gotta think it comes stock with 3.73s, 4.10s wouldn't make an appreciable difference
