I haven't yet, I'm just tired of the wife nagging me about it. I should have never told her what the purpose of it was...

I just finished swapping Shocks/struts out for some new TRD OR Bilsteins and had to move the sway bars out of the way to drop the struts.
Ended up having to cutting the damn endlink out due to stripped allen hole and corroded threads. Bought replacements with the flats to put a wrench and zerks instead. Way better design.
Also had to cut the top threaded mount of one of the struts due to corrosion.
She is back in service now and rides great.

OP, Pick up a reciprocation saw and grinder it will get you out of a lot of trouble.(or potentially cause damage.lol)

Any insight on a stripped out threaded nut in the frame for the sway bar bushings?
I have one that has me uneasy. Its tightened all the way and holding. but just spinning.

Can you show me a picture of which nut you're referring to? I posted a photo a few comments back with the ones that were giving me so much trouble.

If it's a bolt that screws directly into the frame, like the ones holding up the factory "skid plate," I've heard a reverse threaded bolt remover can work. I haven't tried it yet. Otherwise my Dremel has served me well on multiple occasions now lol

Stock jack works fine. just put it under the LCA. There is also a large bump in the center of the front crossmember that can be used as a lifting spot.

I loved the story! I laughed so hard! I've had projects like that too. Everything seems to go the wrong way.

Its the bolts holding the sway bar bushings to the frame. There are 2 sway bar bushings, one on either side. It holds the sway bar up. There are 2x bolts for each bushing. the bolt is 12 or 14mm and the threads it catches to, I believe, are a welded nut on the inside of the boxed frame. Just looking for a solution to secure that bolt.

I found one in the shop corner and was able to figure out the rest. Lol, we took my buddies off too and those should be floating around somewhere in the shop too. I’m 1 for 8, I’ll probably find them later in life and swap them in for the ones from the hardware store.
