Here is the autonation add I would like to ask you all about please.

    https://www.autonationfordarlington...a-Tacoma-e00e890b0a0e0a917dcee69789d0fbef.htm

A good friend (who is Tacoma knowledgeable) casually advised me that he sees a small lift on this truck. You all agree?

Way back toward end of all pictures (photo 20) shows closeup of tires 285/75/R17. I have hunted around and came to conclusion that it takes a whole lot of work to clear these tires.
2021 TRD sport, 4WD. Appears to be stock 17" wheels compared to another one I drove this last weekend.

I called dealer sales guy selling this truck and he had a mechanic look at it. I had asked if there was a lift on it. Answer was no from the dealer mechanic.

Am I getting lied to please? I'm in the middle of a purchase and don't want a modified truck.

Please tolerate this newb's questions as I'm about to spend $40 grand. Thanks so much.

    none yet
those pics are screwing with me, in one the passenger side looks squatted then the back looks to have standard taco lean on the drivers side
measuring wheel center to the bottom of the fender will tell if there is a lift (anyone know stock offhand?)
given the leather seats I'd guess it has a lift but if it is an adjustable shock lift you would just need to set them differently

The leather seats are aftermarket Katzkin (zoom in on tag on photo 13). The truck started life as a cloth seats and no sunroof version. Trying to find leather seats and 6 speed manual is real hard unless you live out west. I'm in Houston. I wanted to find one done this way as I don't want a sunroof. Its a freaking truck! Factory leather only comes with sunroof.

That is definitely lifted. Me personally, pass. If you want leather just have the katzkin or whatever route you want done to the truck you buy. Don’t need to specifically buy a truck with that already done. That will limit your options down to practically none.

The rear shocks are not stock. Stock have a smooth hard plastic cover over the piston shaft. These are ribbed like a Bilstein 5100 boot.

$40k is just too much for a midsize truck. I’d buy a used 4x4 tundra with real leather seats instead of the aftermarket crap.

Hey, it says no worries, they inspected it. You're fine. Buy 2 if they have an extra.

Thanks for idea but I'm actually wanting a midsize truck. I am replacing a 2003 Dodge Ram and wanting to downsize. I don't plan to pull with it. We have a BMW X5 with diesel if anything needing to be pulled. 550 lb-ft of torque in that beast

Looks like 5100s and IMO that's an upgrade over stock.

10k miles and looks like new 285 tires not stock size so acceleration may suffer slightly and speedo off.
See some dash mods on switches.
Look under front and see if stock shocks or 5100 on like 3rd notch up (lowest is stock height) and 3rd is 1.75-2" lift.
4th or highest notch is like 2.5" and alignment will not ever be able to be correct as they require new aftermarket UCAs - so crawl under and find out.
It is a sport so no rear e-locker if you plan on any tougher offroad use you would need a TRD Offroad model.
Those side bars are only steps so will get mangled if offroad use.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

    Def lifted for sure.
You can't fit 285/75/17 BFG AT tires on a stock suspension on a Sport. Even if so, not without any significant modifications.

    Yes
Hold off until this good friend is prepared to advise you formally. 40k is not a casual price.

The tire diameter itself is about three and a quarter inches above stock TRD Sport tires, so that right there is going to get you about 1.5 lift.
