    Good afternoon everyone!

After enough time as ground guy, time spent in the regular army and SOF as a Chinook guy, and an approved Class 1W physical finally, im pursueing my first dream before switching to Aviation as enlisted.

Calling all Warrant Officers who might be more junior and willing to share with me a redacted version of their Warrant Officer Resume. I have everything completed so far except the resume.

While i may be a good writer, we all know Army writing is the hardest because it requires a strange mix of basic writing skills but with as much power as a quality college paper.

Im just lookimg to get a read on how others worded their Resume entries in order to help me word my own experiences.

    Thanks!

I’ve got nothing for you, mine’s over ten years old. Be sure it’s what you really want to do though since you’re on the hook for 12 years now.

The grass is greener but it is still very much Army grass.

Nah, if you're a warrant officer then you just walk across with your hands in your pocket and ignore whatever NCO is losing his mind.

@R3b3lSon82 - the resume should basically read similar to a NCOER with details of what duties you held and key things you've achieved. Depending on how long you've been in there really might not be much to put in there from your Army service so you could include things in your civilian life that should make you more qualified or standout compared to other applicants. Whatever you lists needs to be quantifiable. In other words, you can't have been the best at something you need to be #1 of 13, not a marathon finisher but finished in the top 90%, etc. You don't feel/think/believe you will be a good warrant officer candidate you are a top candidate because of X, Y and Z.

This is the most important part. There is a huge difference in reading a resume that outlines duties VS Acheivements.

I applied to flight school in 2009 and was accepted so most of my information is really old.

As far as advice, the biggest question you need to ask yourself before going on this journey is, Do you want to be in the army, or do you want to be a pilot.

It is a 12 year commitment now? Yikes!!!

This would not have stopped 20 year old me though.... 30 year old me knows how green that grass really was!
I still would not change that experience for anything in the world.

Yep, the Army really knows how to encourage people to join. It’s a ten year ADSO after flight school graduation so about 12 total with time in school. They also now reset your W1 date of rank to the graduation day AND made promotion to W2 three years instead of two like it was for us. So essentially you’re locked in for longer and getting paid less for it since you’ll be a W1 for close to five years instead of two.

I see you are in Colorado springs.... Are you active or reserve..... If you are a reserve medevac M model Blackhawk driver we might have been in the same Company...

That's nuts! I swore I was a W2 all of 3 months after flight school! I was in the reserves my entire time. I was one of the lucky ones that they brought me to WOCS, then had me sit on funeral detail for 6 months while waiting for the BOLIC bottle neck... I hear two years after me they started sending National guard and reserve soldiers home in between classes.

I’m active. I also spent about six months doing funerals during flight school and pinned W2 two months after showing up at the unit.
