Since your friends truck is a prerunner, have her look into maxtrack spindle lifts. It'll lift the front 4" without a drop bracket. It's a much more popular option.

I told her about that and she said it's too much(go figure). She doesn't plan to get bigger tires soon but wanted to get this kit. I just wanted to see if the sway bar drop spacers are necessary for this application. The kit online doesn't show them included, only the diff drop spacers and skid plate spacers.

My bad, I had this thread mixed up with a different one. No, the sway bar relocate isn't necessary. If your friend doesn't have her mind made up already, I can point her in the direction of a much better lift for ~$650

Did y’all need new rear shocks for this kit?

Just an FYI for you guys, going this big without UCA’s will cause possible alignment issues, and the dreaded needle bearing issue. I however talked to my Toyota dealer, went to check out the 18’s and started talking to the salesman who has a lifted TRD Pro, he stated that as long as the work was done by an ASE certified shop, Toyota shouldn’t hassle you. You’ll have to prove the work was done there though. Just a heads up and maybe a winning point in a battle with Toyota!

Stupid question. Did you keep stock suspension with this kit? Just got a trd offroad and want to wear out the suspension that came on the truck before upgrading to an ome kit.

Yes, this is used with your existing suspension.
