Im working on a "hook up" from a coworker, and finally am at the level of conferring with the dealer. They dont have what i want in stock, dcab 4wd, 6mt, sr5 plus tow package, and say they have to special order. Is there any additional cost to special ordering and do i need to be present at the dealership to get this kick started?

Side note: I've checked out truecar and edmunds as well as other car buying tip sites, so I'm somewhat prepared for this. The fleet manager is the point of contact for me.

I am getting my AC v6 off road with manual Trans. Through special order. Will be paying what True Car says @ $400 below invoice.

Depends on the dealer. I shopped around and got a bunch of "lowest we can go is 300 below MSRP" until I found the right guy.

Be prepare to wait 6-8 weeks.

wow. just got off the phone with the fleet manager, and he says the special order(for my somewhat basic request) has a lead time of up to 6 months, since they mostly sell trd packaged trucks, which is what I dont want. jeez. I'm within the throes of the southwest region market which is saturdated with trd packaged trucks...

    None, yet
Go to a different dealer(s). My dad just bought a nissan murano, got 4 dealers in a bidding war with one another.

The dealers lie when it comes to special order. Call another one.

Where in the Southwest? Call Beaver Toyota in Santa Fe. They keep Manual Transmissions in stock
