Are the ReadyLift 44-5000 Series 1 control arms worth it? I found a pair new for $500 and am tempted to install them on my '05. I currently have LR control arms with a 2.5-3" lift (my second pair actually, the first pair broke while driving on pavement), and am interested in getting something beefier for peace of mind. The only problem is they salt the roads where I live in the winter. The Readylift control arms seem to have a cap on the top of the uniball to keep junk out--would this and occasional spraying with silicone lube be enough to get at least a few years out of each set of uniballs? Is there a way to put a boot on them? I have a ball joint press that would make replacing them a snap, but the uniballs themselves are still $50 each.

    Other questions:
    1) Do these allow for increased caster like the SPC control arms do?
    2) Do the 2nd gen and 3rd gen Tacomas have the same control arms? The guy selling them says they are for 2016-2018 Tacomas, but the part number is the same as control arms being sold for 2nd gens.

I’m 99% sure they’ll fit, but I’m 100% sure Uniballs and road salt sounds like a horrible idea if you’re diligent about washing them out and keeping lube on them they will probably be alright. Then you have to decide if you need Uniballs badly enough to worry about that
