Wrong. 1st gens are selling for $15-16k with 100k and are 10 years old. These trucks hold value across the generations. Most guys are getting $28-30k on trade for their 2nd gens which they purchased for $32k. What I'm getting at is the new truck is a lot more expensive, not sure if the demand and value/resale will be as close to original price as previous gens. I would never ever ever ever consider a MOPAR product, absolute worst. Ford resale and quality is the highest among domestics and competing with our brand. GM stuff is garbage, but their trucks much like ours are the same bones underneath and have been known to be somewhat reliable in longevity.

Its your truck, if you want to throw a dollar general lift on there to get the look of a lifted truck by all means, but it is also far from a quality or good lift and that is undeniable. Spacers give you the instant look for little but are far from the same quality and longevity as a true lift.

also had an 06 on blocks in the rear and spacers in the front, rough ride and no down travel are the only down falls. If you are on pavement 90% of the time - blocks and spacers are fine and you won't have many issues going 100k miles on it.

I had spacers on my last one. 175k never a day of issue. It 175 I need a wheel bearing. Bog woop!!

All you do is shift the shock down. Still have the same range of motion in the shock as you did before spacers. As for the rear with 2" block. At full sag I still had to compress the shock 1/2 it get it onto place.

So if I blow out a shock ok. Then it gets replaced.

That's the key. All comes down to intended use. Don't think anyone is trying to argue that spacers are better than icon, king or fox coilovers but no point in spending thousands to get "the look" on nothing more than a pavement queen. I'd be surprised if anyone has ever broken a shock going over a speed bump in the mall parking lot. Sure some have started out with spacers and ended up spending more in the long run to upgrade as their intended use changed but live and learn. That said, $230 for front spacers seems a bit steep. 5100's/eibach or OME front shocks and coils aren't that much more and you end up that much closer to a full suspension lift (full ome kit is only a little over $1k). Granted guess the same could be said for going that route since some have used those as stepping stones to icons and more expensive adjustable coilovers. Maybe we should all just go long travel from the beginning!

Agree. But people here think if you don't do things their way it's the wrong way.

No people simply present their opinions, their experiences and facts/info. If you don't like people saying your lift is cheap and less functional (which it is) then don't let it bother you, its their opinion, just like yours that spacers are fine, doesn't make you wrong or them wrong. Its just an overall consensus from this forum and offroad community that spacers are not the best option, but if it works for you fine. People get their feelings too hurt and it seems lately to be often and in the 3rd gen section, just my observations.

No people don't listen or read. I have stated 100 times that my truck will never see wheeling like others. I go offroad once in a blue moon and it's nothing crazy.

Plus people also push what the board sponsors say and sell. That's what they hear and all they know. Truth is their are a lot better suspension system then the 5100.

True but your not listening either, the 5100 argument was you can get 5100's for the same price as spacers, so for the price the 5100 route is a better lift is what they are arguing, there's BOSS, Icon, OME, King, so many more $$$ and more functional lifts.

Also if you get 5100s for front lift and keep your stock coils, in the future you have the opportunity of upgrading your coils to something better
