Retailers must be ecstatic that tacomaworld essentially bullies everyone into buying mid travel lift kits that literally do nothing for 99% of its members. Hahaha

Nobody is talking about the lift. Just saying your exhausting career as a wheeler seems to be slightly overblown being that you only drive on compacted beach sand.

So.. no reason to be so hostile. Drive whatever you want, just try to be less of a legend and more practical when giving advice to someone who’s looking at you as the trusted source. Back pedaling about stuff you wrote and saying you didn’t makes no sense, neither does saying you wheeled the shit out of 5 trucks when the reality is you didn’t. If you did, you’d have a different opinion on the drawbacks of drop bracket lifts when it comes to wheeling. All you’re doing is driving.

How do you get the best of both worlds, as far as a good size lift and still performing? I'm on 295/70/17s and will most likely make the jump to 35s next year. Is that the only way?

Takes more than lift to fit 35s.

It amuses me that people post on TW about DB lifts and expect a different response. This place may be hive minded, but it's pretty damn apparent the response you're going to get. Ultimately, your post was not seeking new information, it was seeking opinions. Brah A could have given you 1 opinion and Brah B could have given you another. Where would that have left you? Stuck with two opinions from complete strangers, that you'd be a fool to trust. They could be 12 year olds f'ing with you, for all you know.

Personally, you could cut your truck in half, and I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it. Some people will try to chime in and save you from a mistake (their opinion)... and you can just ignore that opinion, or take heed. What's the difference between their opinion and Brah A's or B's?

Do what you want man! But if you want real facts or friendly opinions on DB lifts, TW probably isn't your best source. Maybe talk to those 20+ lifted Jeep/Tacoma owners you see every day.

Or maybe this post was just to stir the hive... hmmmmm. Let me CSI this shit. :spy:

I just received some 1/16" thick black plastic to redo my whee well liners. I've already done an aggressive body mount chop, and some wheel liner trimming, as well as. Afront bumper chop. I will be cutting my fenders in the next couple weeks. I also might look into a body mount relocation this year at some point. I like the width of my 295s so I'm hopping to find a 35" tire that is close to that width. We will see though.

I'm also installing a 1" body lift this weekend.

Neither. Dr emmett brown is a fictional character from the hit 80s trilogy "Back to the future". It's unfortunate that most people don't recognize the name. Oh wel
