I have a '24 off road auto transmission. I drive a true 50/50 City/highway. Technically, more highway, but Northern Virginia rush hour is more stop & go. 60 mile round trip commute. Truck is about 6 weeks old. I don't drive like an old lady, but I'm not too heavy footed either. So far, I average just under 23 mpg. That's calculating miles driven & gallons filled up because my "average mpg" gauge isn't accurate & neither is the miles until empty. My best tank was 23.6 & worst, with beach off-roading, is 22, so it doesn't vary much for me.

Yea, 19 is what I am seeing more or less. One MPG more than my 2004 new, and 3 more MPG than my 2004 20 years later. If I put the Taxa Cricket camper on the back with no other load (my normal load is 3100 lbs without the trailer) I get 12. Not looking forward to full travel load and the trailer. Will report back in December on how well that goes.

I'll be taking the pop up camper on an 800 mile trip soon, so I'm curious what it'll be.

    Hybrid Taco average 23 mpg
    Non-hybrid average 19 mpg

50 miles away from work Hybrid needs = 2.17 gallons of gas. Non- hybrid = 3.63 gallons of gas.

Savings 3.63-2.17 = 1.46 gallons one way X 2 (back and forth) = 2.92 gallons per work day.

Average gas price $3.52/gal, average cost of Hybrid = $10,000 more on regular non-hybrid.

Average gallons saved (2.92) X average price ($3.52) = Cost of gas save $7.74/day (average 50 miles).

$10,000 divided by $7.74 = 1,291 days divided by working days per year (260)= 4.9 years, to own the Hybrid to make even to the cost of the Hybrid, is it worth or time to buy a new Tacoma?

Last tank was a solid 22MPG of both city and hwy driving. Drove 200 miles today, all HWY at 70 to 90 MPG and was at 21 MPG on the GOM.

That's not right. The Toyota cost sheet has the difference at $3,700, I believe. Also, your non-hybrid should be 2.63, not 3.63. Making a savings of .92 gallons, or $3.24 per day or per 100 miles.

Funny enough, it ends up being a wash. 4.4 years or days or 114,000 miles to break even.

Toyota cost is what toyota news tells you, but really in stealership and advertisement, they marked up the Hybrid and its not worthy enough to buy one with the gas millage difference, I think in smaller cars YES, but not in Trucks, the only benefits is nice/easy/beautiful/quick initial torque, but as soon as it start rolling, gas power take-over. My two (2) cents.

Interested to see the mpg reports here. I've gone just under 2000 miles in 2 months, most of it on highways or rural back roads, with an iforce max OR. I was getting 22.7-22.8, it seemed like it was trending higher. Then I had to do more driving in-town and it's dropped to 22.5. I was hoping to see 23 by now, at least. I'm using the eco setting (when I remember) in town. Have no idea what difference that makes.

Mines getting 17 Mpg. It has 200 miles on it. I live at 5000 feet above sea level. I drove 2/3 of the time in the city and some canyons with a heavy foot. 1/3 freeway. 2 trips to the dump about 20 miles with 700 lb trailer and 1000lbs trash. So 6mpg better than my 2019 tundra with 35” tires . It sure is a better driving experience.

My latest road trip came out with 24.5 mpg which I'm having trouble believing (checked the calcs a couple of times). That was over 1400 miles. However, only about 150 of that was interstate at 75mph. The rest was country highways, some mountainous (with both up and down hill about equal), speeds 55-65 max.
This was the first trip with my Smartcap on and I'm wondering if the streamline effect is getting me better mileage.

With the Hiatus how long is the sleeping area? If I’m 6’3” and wife is 6’ are our legs going to be dangling in space?

By the gauge in the dash. At 6000' average elevation in Normal mode with 35" tires and resetting mpg at every fill up. It gets 18.8 - 18.9 Oh and that's no freeway.

I’m driving my 2013, original owner with no plans to sell. You buy a Tacoma partly for reliability, if you’re a true Tacoma owner you’ll be driving that hybrid for 10 years or more.
