Realistic detrimental effects of CMC/BMC?

I am considering a CMC/BMC on my 2021 pro for the obvious (GO BIG) reasons.
I have combed our forums and others and am not finding much empirical data post-CMC. How is structure and flex affected? What happens if you melt the rubber bushing behind the mount and just patch the hole with rods?
Sure, i have not seen a tacoma spontaneously explode due to CMC. But i also don't see any accounts of why a CMC is "better than oem" other than allowing bigger rubber.
So are we all justifying it for the sake of beefcake?

Coming from the days of removing "restrictor plates" i'm always subscribed to the school of thought that there really is no free lunch.

What are the realistic negative effects of a CMC?

I've read a few threads on this and it seems that the general consensus is that cab mount (pre chop) better protects you from your wheels/other things coming into the cab in the event of a head-on/front angle collision.

The biggest effect will be collision response where the front tire is shoved to the cab mount that is designed to direct the tire down instead of into the jamb/cab. As for as durability, it will depend on the plate you choose to weld in and who does the welding but I can mathematically prove that the proper plate and proper weld will be much stronger than what is getting cut off. So it is strictly a safety thing during a front collision where the suspension/wheel and tire is directly impacted backwards.

There was a nasty head on collision that was posted here recently. The Taco had a CMC or CMR and still protected the occupants. There was a also a wedge camper on board. Given all that, it shows how impressive the Taco is.

    This^^^.

If you want the IIHS crash tests you will see that the cab mount is integral to preventing the wheel from entering the passenger space.

How much a CMC will affect the crashworthyness is impossible to know without FEA analysis and crash testing the truck with the chop.
