Thanks for the compliments. The MPG change with the GFF was negligible. UNLESS I’m driving fast. On a highway at 75+ it’s crushing. Around town it makes very little difference. Thankfully it’s not my daily driver anyway. So I don’t even worry about it.

All true. I was just curious to see what actual owners were getting for typical HWY commute mileage since that will represent 98% of my driving experience. Buying a truck to commute every day is not a financially responsible decision unless it's necessary for your job and in that case you can write off some of that depreciation and mileage - not me unfortunately. BTW - I do make my own coffee every morning vs. the drive thru's....;-)

It's such an easy way to save some money. I'm a big fan. I've been doing the home cold brew for awhile now and it's great. Although I have to admit I make it a little stronger than I probably should. Doc won't be happy.

If you do mostly highway and are an auto, I'd say 21-23 with 23 being not a ton if elevation change and less traffic jams , and 21 being real hilly and rush hour jams.

It doesn't need it, but my truck feels better with midgrade 1-3rd gear with the rpms dipping low. Just a butt feel / can actually pull out of the corner on my road in 2nd with the hill.

I bought a Tacoma because of its combination of size, capability, and potential for decent fuel economy. I drive on average 25000 miles a year, push the payload capacity at least a couple times a month, and need 4WD or AWD where I live. I tried a Subaru Outback but it didn’t hold up to the hauling I have to do for work.

I spend about $20 more a week on gas (20mpg vs 25mpg) driving a Tacoma but it’s much more capable and for me fun to drive. I don’t see much reason to piss away more than I have to on gas just because “it’s a truck” though... if I got 16mpg like some on here do it’s another $20 per week, or $1050 per year, wasted and I’d rather put that in a coffee can for fun stuff. Hell I’d buy a hybrid Tacoma in a heartbeat.

this is exactly why im rolling a 2.7l 4 banger, its better than a Suburu and I can use it for truck stuff and a daily driver and am getting generally 23 MPGs

I also swore I wouldn’t drive anything as slow as a 2.5L outback again, plus I need a double cab, so I’m happy to pay 2-3 mpg for the v6’s passing power. :)

I have an 18 Sport and live at an elevation of about 3800 feet here in Idaho. I have about 15k miles on it now and average about 22 in the summer and just dropped to about 20 on the last couple tanks of gas (think we changed over to winter blend already here). Daily driver for me, from home to work is about 13 miles between 20-65 mph speeds and about 12-14 stop lights. I use cruise all the time when driving and try not to punch the pedal when taking off from a stop, also try and roll to a stop light to time it right for green.
