I need some advice on what you guys think.

Wheels are from discount tires direct online wholesale is 150x4=600 + 45(new lugs) + 12( valve stems) = 657

    Nitto TG's = 199X4= 796 + 657 = 1453 + some dumb FET tax of around 10 bucks thats =

$1463 if I buy online -50 for discount and thats $1413 shipped to my door.

From what I have been told from big O and discount tire stores their labor is about 25 a wheel/tire to install so add 100

1513 total is all I feel like I should pay

I have to order the wheels from discount tire because they have them the cheapest with free shipping and the 50 dollar discount.

I am going to be calling Big O tomorrow and asking them to install them for me as I am fed up with the guy at the local discount tire.

I have an agreement for him to install the new wheels with my old tires for 694. I asked him if I bring the new tires in will he put them on for me as he has to dismount my old tires from the old wheels anyway and he said NO he will charge me to mount and balance new tires. SCREW HIM

Any info or advice on what others paid for Nitto TG's in 285/70 R17's?

Are you buying your wheels and tires from the same place? I know some places when they sell you wheels and tires together they will come to you mounted and balanced so all you would have to do is put them on when you get them. I know 4wheelparts does this and I'm sure someothers do as well.

Find out who their competition is. Go back to them and tell them that "the competition" has agreed to do it for a lesser amount. Tell them the other guy wants your business so they aren't charging you for something that Discount Tire is. Just get your story straight before you play this game with them. Trust me, they want the sale and will give a little. (anything is better than nothing). Make sure you talk to the manager or person in charge at the store though, you probably won't get anywhere with another employee. Good Luck!

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
Discount will beat any price... that's the angle you need.

FET is federal excise tax and is applied to typically load range E tires...
