Totally agree with "clumsy handling". As they come from the factory, the worst handling truck I have ever driven.

Yeah. Every bad point they mention is a plus if you want to go off-road. Stopping distance I'll give them, but my TRD OR handled great off the lot, and I'm comparing that to Icon Stage 1 now.

High floor and low roof means more clearance and lower center of gravity.

Fair cornering capabilities? WTF? Who buys a truck expecting it to corner well on dry pavement? I couldn't give a rat's ass and I drove a 1983 VW Rabbit GTI, one of the best cornering production cars ever made. Yeah, I said that and I stick by it.

Want a smooth ride, easy access and comfort? Get a frikkin Ridgeline, and see what happens off-road. You can't have both.

Funny how such a sub-par vehicle outsells the competition by such a huge margin.

It goes from point A to point B and does so more reliably than any other truck on the market despite the ECU.

    Silly list.

So you've never driven a mid 2000s Nissan frontier?

Yes pretty clumsy handling I will agree with though. With three adults and a baby it is not confidence inspiring on windy mountain roads.

No, just no. I've owned 4 VWs, had 2 GTIs and loved them all, raced 1 GTI to a national championship in AutoX, but never was I that deluded. The GTI has never been the best handling car in G stock, never mind one of the best cornering production cars ever made.

Meh, with the new '16 model being a redesign, I agree about it being foolish to buy a '14-'15 now.

Either wait and get the '15 for cheap, or wait and get the '16.

My buddy sent me this to give me crap for owning a Tacoma...and my thoughts were:

"Clumsy handling makes it a chore to drive, and the rough ride is fatiguing, with constant jiggling and a rubbery feel over even small imperfections."

The Colorado felt no better to me, and the Frontier was worse. I actually find the ride to be very comfortable (I got the Sport, but I'm also coming from a car with a performance modified suspension...but either way no other midsize felt any better).

"The cabin’s high floor and low roof make access tricky and compromise the driving position."

Again...Frontier is worse. I felt like I had no headroom in Nissan's offering, and it was narrow between the doors. The Colorado is a tad easier to get in only because it has less ground clearance, but any "access" issue is resolved with step bars. High floor? The Colorado floor is higher. It feels like you are practically sitting on the floor in that truck. Something not considered: the Tacoma easily has the most interior room. Both the Frontier and Colorado felt cramped and narrow in comparison.

"Options can easily drive up the price well into full-sized truck territory."

Really? The writer clearly has not looked at full size truck pricing. Similarly equipped I would have been looking at over 10 grand more. For a Colorado similarly equipped was about 5-6k more (granted thats after haggling, but even sticker price the Colorado is 2-3k more).

The only reason I can actually think of is "a new one is coming out soon!" Even that is not a really strong argument.
