So I was starting to build my over head console for my CB and controller, and noticed there was a plug sitting just behind the headliner above the over head console, I then, er... have know that there is an ambient temp sensor already installed. Like how hard is it for Toyota to install the gauge, "lets install all the parts for everything, but when we get to the actual guage fu*k it"-end rant

Pictures are whats going in my over head console
Reusing an old police car controller to control everything in truck from lighting to winch and lockers

Cheaper to have just one harness than multiple different ones! Poka Yoke, so it's impossible to install the wrong one...

I was kind of wondering if it was the same deal, it only had two wires in what i think was a 4 pin connector, When I was reading up on ding the install I found alot of people may or may not have had the connectors, but mines got the sensor and everything lol

That plug in the headliner is for the autodim rearview mirror. Plugs in nicely with the mirror I got from Bob.

Chevy does something similar using one harness for all variations of the same model, so if it was a one harness fits all kinda thing, where would the ambient harness go if not to the headliner

Didn't the TRD O/R models used to come with a compass and temp readout on the overhead? It's not a huge deal to me, but I was kind of disappointed when I got my 2015 and it didn't have that. Pretty lame that they would reduce simple features like that.
