Today I installed an add-a-leaf kit and upgraded my rear shocks to 5100's. I have experience installing my 5100's in the front so I felt pretty confident. Everything went smoothly until I went to tighten the top of the 5100's! On all the other shocks (including front 5100's and the old bilstein rear shocks) there is a flattened, non-threaded part to grab hold of so the shock doesn't spin while you tighten the nut. Well, my rear 5100's do not have that, and they have a nylon locking nut. The result is that the nut doesn't even go on all the way before the shock spins, so I can't even grab onto the threaded bolt as it emerges from the nut! I really don't want to pull down the boot and vice grip the shock because I don't want to damage it, and I don't feel like that should be necessary! Any ideas?

AH! Looks like there is an allen wrench slot at the top of the bolt! I like this design a lot more... Well... hopefully some desperate person in the future sees this...

Gotta love those "aha!" moments. Reminds me of the KONI Specials (aka "reds") I put on one of my Accords several years ago, also used an allen key.
