So I installed the Fox 2.0 Performance shock with the external reservoir with the icon 3 leaf progressive pack about 2 months ago and I feel that the rear end is just a tad too stiff. It tends to bounce off road and on road over potholes and speed bumps. The bed is also unloaded which was my first thought for the reason to the problem. Can’t complain about the flex though. I have been doing some research and coming up with mixed answers. Is it the 3 leaf pack or the shock or could it be a combination of both? Could I just add some weight to the bed? I also thought that maybe the tires could have an influence on the ride? Is it the lack of droop since the rear is lifted 1.5”? Any input would be appreciated. Trying to figure out which path to take. Thanks

Also, the overload leaf was removed. I do not tow anything and when I have cargo in the bed it is not a substantial weight.

My truck is a 2015 4 cyl access cab.

The front Fox 2.0 coilovers do pretty well even with the lighter front end. Off topic question: Do you think if I bring down the ride height in the front a 0.25”, is that enough to feel a difference?

    What tire load range?
    What psi?

    What else was changed?
Did the rear hop around before these changes?

Bone stock even the shocks are a limiting factor, running the extended length 5100s fro downsouthmotorsports gained me a ton of droop and the smoothist ride, but the uptravel is limited and bumpstoos have to be reworked.

Now im on the reg 5100s, icon, 4 leaf pack with overload removed, and its much smoother than stock and doesnt hop around.

Small toolbox (kobalt shallow), with maybe 50lbs in it.... wrangler authoritys load range c, 265/75/16.

Hmm, i run 36 on road and it seems fine.

Id def call around a few REPUTABLE shops that work on shocks.... not just some place that installs or sells only.

Yeah installed them at the same time. If I installed the shocks first, I could have felt the difference, but unfortunately not.

    37 is high.

Drop down to 33 and see if it helps. I ran the same 3 leaf and had no complaints of the ride, though it is stiffer than stock and I knew and expected it.

Is that enough that it will negatively affect tire wear on the road, though?

No, certainly no more than 37.

I run 34. Falken suggests 29 for that tire.

I wouldn't bother with that unless the problem goes away with a PSI drop.

According to Falken he's 25% over inflated. So start there and run a normal pressure. If it doesn't go away, check your shocks. If it does, do a chalk test.

    YouTube has videos.

    How did
How did you find the recommended tire pressure? The max (cold) is 44 psi

@DrFunker emailed Falken for the recommend PSI.

Also max is a maximum. Not to exceed.

    You're overinflated.

Okay, yeah I wouldn't inflate to maximum. I never thought though that the recommended was that much lower than the max...interesting. Well now I know, thanks. I guess also I started caring about mpg; may as well give up on that haha

Agree with Buddy here, should not be riding that rough with the overload removed too. I have Billys in the rear with the overload removed and its very smooth.

PSI is set at 35 all around.
