So i bought this truck for cheap with a big wobble and thought it was the bearing/hub, i change the rear driver side axel/hub, wobbling stops but there is this noise, its coming from inside the rear diff drivers side is looks like.
Im thinking i need a new rear diff housing or? The truck was hit on the right rear side, that wheel is fine its just this one...
If you can chime in what this is.. i have no idea, thanks guys!

I lifted the rear and tried spinning the right tire myself, when the grinding starts it becomes alot harder to push the wheel, the truck drives good its just this noise so im not driving it right now..

I'm looking into replacing my driver side rear axle as well.

Took it into the mechanic today because the wheel was getting hot after driving. He said the rear axle is bent.

From the information you gave I would think that the housing that holds the axle shaft was bent as well. So now every time the straight axle shaft rotates to the bent housing it touches. Just a guess...I'm a novice with mechanical stuff.

Almost sounds like the drum is rubbing the backing plate. If you drove it a bit you can probably remove the drum and see where it's been scraping.

spin it without the drum on it, I bet the drum is rubbing on the dust shield, if so just bend the back plate back where its rubbing until it has even clearance all the way around or you need to replace it.

most people never think about the back plate might be bent

That is definitely the rear dust cover rubbing. Try bending it out until the grinding disappears or if that dose not work keep driving the truck until the noise goes away.
