    not much tbh
    “Well having them labeled from the get go would have been helpful. Part of the problem with not having the vehicle here. Where did you get the bearings?”

    Like it’s my job to tell them how to do their job they agreed to do. Would have been fine if they just put them together the exact way they were done before…

    It sounds like they are just making up excuses for their wrong doing. That's some bad customer service there.

    Yeah, I’m gonna send them pics and maybe even just take it to them and explain it in person cause that would be easier

    The sensor hole doesn’t need to be drilled just one tapped hole for the sensor to be flipped. There is absolutely no downside to doing this very simple 5min job per side no need to fill or do anything with the open thread it doesn’t go all the way threw. You would be saving perfectly good bearings, it would be a waste to have them put new bearings I know it sounds corny but I hate seeing parts wasted. As poster saying he wants it done right, I don’t see this ever causing any issue. Its a mistake anyone could have done no reason to make the shop eat 300$ for something easily fixed, but they should be the ones to drill and tap if you don’t have the tools, and ask for some money back for the inconvenience and gas. Maybe you should offer this solution to the shop and go from there

    Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
    I would go this route just to avoid the headache. It sucks when you pay with hard earn money and the counterparts doesn’t follow through and try to blame the customer.

    they're still determined that it wasn't their fault, but they did reluctantly say they were gonna order replacement bearings and that they'd press them for me. I'd still have to do the work again, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Maybe I'll see if they can like give me a refund or alignment and tire balancing or something. we'll see

    Guess I never looked that closely. I know when I did my bearings, I did them just as I do rear drum brakes....one side at a time to verify it goes in the same way it came out.

    That right there is admission of guilt, so you're making progress. Keep working them until you get what was initially promised, a set of rear wheel bearings installed CORRECTLY.

    It's been awhile since I did my rear bearing, but I recall the connector to the sensor was "directional," such that if you flip the sensor, the connector would be facing inward toward the backing plate. Would there be enough clearance in such a case for the connector/harness connection?

    Yeah, that’s correct there’s no turning it and installing it facing outward. I had the shop get me new bearings and press them. Got everything installed again yesterday and everything is working!! Thanks all

    Make sure it is OEM. They could be ordering dorman to save the cost of the fuck up.
    Honestly, I would get your money back and go somewhere else.

    Does this actually work in practice?

    Does the speed sensor not know that it’s reading the magstrip of a wrong side bearing? My concern is, would the speed sensor see a wrong-side magstrip and think it is rolling in the reverse direction?

    Yes, the sensors and magnetic rings are just flat tabs.

    I’ve seen it work twice, faaaaaar from ideal.

    I triple check any bearing set I get because of this simple error

    Anyone know what all those acronyms mean? The systems affected by the speed sensor readings?

    ABS = antilock brakes
    TRAC = traction control?
    LSD = limited slip differential
    others = ?

    VSC is traction control. Your manual should explain them
