Good to hear and glad you didn’t blow a hole in your rear end.

Well more like seeping. There is definitely signs of leakage around the seal at least to my eyes. However, from what I read on TW, the techs are not supposed to do anything unless there is serious leaking (drips).

I plan on re-gearing eventually, so I don't really care. My truck isn't on the recall list even though it is a model that is prone to the issue (16-17 OR).

Getting this thread back on track...

I've done tons of stupid things in my truck over the past nine years and I haven't broken anything.

Sucks that they consider seeping OK on a new truck. Hopefully mine gets fixed along with the howl.

Regarding vibes you have/had, my truck has occasional driveline vibrations around 30 mph, coasting or decelerating.
Also it will vibrate through the rev range when flooring it in first. I directly attribute it to the shitty leaf springs causing variations in pinion angles. Just ripping thr handbrake at low speeds causes some crazy twist back there.

The taco needs the 4 runners 4 link setup badly. Would serve its purpose fine in a light duty truck.

I have experienced everything that you mentioned here to be honest. I have a diff howl that can be loud when I feather the throttle.

The vibrations on flooring it went away after I got the new engine Tune from Toyota. I don't know how that makes sense.

I plan to upgrade my suspension, so I am not that worried about it.

While a scary and somewhat messed up lesson, he ultimately survived it w/o a scratch and learned an incredibly important lesson. Should probably have thanked angry, psycho cop. The next guy might have blasted him in the face with #6 birdshot, and then peeled out.

Ive clutch dumped the 98 tacoma I had numerous times. Never had a problem. It did however need new brakes right before I traded it in but the drive train was solid.
