I have a 2011 double cab 4x4 with a Toytec 3"lift and when I look at my truck from the rear you can totally tell that the rear passenger tire sticks out between 1/2" to 1" further than the driver side. What causes this? Anyone else have this problem?

Is it the axle, or the bed? Bigger tires will show this more.

When I got aftermarket wheels last year I noticed it. Never had until I was actually looking for it. But yeah, don't know if it's that the axle is actually further over or whether the rear quarter panel sheet metal is different.

If you are driving on a straight and level road, and the truck doesn't pull or tend to veer to one side or the other if you let go of the wheel, or when you hit the brakes, then the tracking is good, and it's more then likely the bed is slightly off center.

Dude, my entire body is shifted to one side......the front/rear tires stick out more on one side, than the other.

You can tell if it's the bed by checking the gap between the body and the bed, if the gaps are the same it's not the bed

Ya I have aftermarket wheels and my tires are 265's.

Im have to try loosening my bed bolts and shifting it over. Haven't thought of that

Interesting......my truck is totally stock, except for the wheels and mine appears to be very slightly offset with the passenger rear sticking out about 1/4" more. The tire shop was totally perplexed to the point of replacing the back rear wheel because the techs and I were convinced the warehouse had shipped one with the wrong back spacing.

The new wheel still looks off, but not quite as bad as it did before (though this could be psychological) After measuring the back spacing and offset, all four techs and I decided that we were all crazy and it was probably an optical illusion or something.

My wife says that I'm crazy and I need to stop staring at right rear tire on the truck through the kitchen window. An offset bed would totally explain this.....

OP: Is this about what you're seeing? In theory, you should be able to measure the center line of the bed, and center line of the window and mark them with a piece of tape and they'll line up......

Yep that's exactly what I'm seeing but mine is far more pronounced. This weekend maybe tomarrow I'll do some measurements to see if it actually is the bed. It's really getting on my nerves. I notice it more and more everyday lol

I have 2012 4door. Bilstin 5100s. 285 tire. I have the same issue. Took measurements from the frame to edge of the tire. And the right rear tire is 1/2" out compared to the drivers side can't figure out why it's like that. But I HATE IT!

Is it common in the rear passenger? I've noticed my right passenger is also out further. I cannot figure it out. It makes me feel like the frame is damaged. Left vs right when looking from the back.

    Yes
You can remove all of the bed bolts and the bed will still not move laterally. There are alignment pegs on the bottom of the bed that fit into holes on the frame next to the bed bolts. Even if those pegs were missing there is very little " slop " in the bed bolts.

Could be leaf spring pins not in the hole and off center on the perch.

I measured from the frame to the outer tire groove and got 3/8" difference which means a shift of 3/16" to correct. It seems to me that it's more likely an issue with the axle slightly shifted in the U-bolts to the leaf packs.

I've seen a taco with just one side out of the hole. Wasn't my handiwork, but I corrected it.
