Hey all, one of the drivers side leafs in the pack cracked so ended up swapping out both of them with nice take offs from a 3gen, all seems good but noticed that one of the wheels is sticking out 3/4 of an inch further than the other one (measured from frame) I didn't measure it before so don't know if it was there before ( probably was?)
How common is this issue and is 3/4 inch something I should be worried about ? Truck doesn't pull anywhere and feels good

It may be nothing. I've seen this brought up before by other posters.

Get some alignment numbers and see what they look like. There are many on here that can assist with interpreting those numbers. ( unfortunately I'm not one of those alignment guru's ).

    I’m with Jimmy.

AFAIK, the axle alignment left/right is set by the leaf springs.
The leafs bolt to the frame. The axle bolts to the leafs.
The axle is aligned by the dowel pins that go on the leafs.

I don’t know you would adjust?
    They are where they are?

Maybe some one out there knows how, but it don’t?

I noticed this on my truck also when I went up in tire size.

I obsessed over it for a while and tried a few things.. like grinding down the head of the centering bolt so i could shove the axle around and try to get it even on both sides. But by the time i tightened up the u-bolts it hadn't really made a difference.

Can't really do anything about, best to just live with it.

Very very common. Just make sure the pins are set in the leaf print seat. If it is you’ll have to live with it. Mine sits off about 1/2”.

Good to hear that it's nothing out of the ordinary, yeah they sit in the proper place and I did have everything loose bounced around the truck and then torqued, but now I'm thinking that I made a mistake by tightening the u bolts before everything was on the ground, so will try to undo them and push things to where they should be, will see if it works...

Use a ratchet strap around the rear axle and hooked to the frame if you need to tweak the axle a little bit. You definitely won't be able to push it by hand. Worked for me when one of my wheels was about 1/2" farther ahead in the wheel well than the other after installing new leaf springs.

There technically "shouldn't" be any adjustment to be made, but in my experience there was enough for it to be a little off side to side. Ratchet strap worked well.

Don't torque anything down until it's all in place.

Recently had to do this myself. I was dog tracking according to people behind me. -.20 on the left rear and .80 on the right rear. Now its around .20 on both sides just about dead even.
