    you can. requires minor cutting and two studs to be drilled/moved. couple hour project.

    If OP lives near az, I have an entire axle with elocker/4.10's and ABS up for grabs.

    The 6 lug 1st gen 4wd/prerunner open diff known as the "8.4" can not swap into the e-locker 8" housing or the other way around without a machine shop and deep pockets.
    The often mentioned e-locker "swap" (pictured above) requiring a "minor bit of grinding, drilling/tapping and bashing" is for an 8" e-locker 3rd into an open 8" housing. 1st gen 6 lug Tacos did not come with an 8"open housing. The swap was made popular years ago with 3rd gen 4skinners as they all had the 8" housings. An e-locker diff gasket placed on the 8" open housing made for a perfect template for the grinding/drilling.
