    Hey guys,

I just took the truck for a oil change and they found out my rear driver side axle seal is leaking fluid all over the drums... GREAT! The Tech said my truck is useless until this is fixed. My question is I have 59K should this be replaced under powertrain warranty or no? If not I'm going to have to pay $530 bucks out of my pocket. Thanks for any feedback.

I don't know about the warranty, but I just changed an axle seal a few months ago...I actually replaced both sides just in case. The cost of parts is nowhere near $530...The seal change isn't hard.
I think all of the parts that I got were drum brake shoes, axle seals, diff fluid, and brake fluid.

I just had my rear seal replaced, and some front seals 2 weeks ago for $225 at a trans shop.

I got the hook up tho :D

Don't pay that much for it. Do it yourself, or at least call around for more prices

you don't need new drums but shoes (Drum brake pads) you will need because they like to soak up that oil. and those are cheap also.

    Thanks guys!

Another Service advisor called me and said it's free and that I don't need to spend money out of my pocket, glad I purchased the 75K warranty :)

make sure to check for any leaks in the wheel well for a few weeks after they fix it for you.

Yeah although they wrote a claim saying it would be under the extended warranty. It's all good, glad I didn't need to shell a grip load of money for the work. I will check for more leaks thanks man.

Not only 2007, both of them failed in my 2005 as well when it was only 2 years old.
