cheapest would be to just find a new housing then truss it. if you dont mind loosing the ABS then build a junkyard 9 for under 600 bucks.

I believe they fit the standard description of a standard 9" as discussed above, all factory wheel sensors out the window....

Don't want cheapest, want best option for me. Cheapest is run it... As mentioned above, about $2k is my ideal budget.

I'm curious. Does that Currie housing come with chromolly axle shafts? If not, then it seems kind of pointless to have a super strong housing and center section, but stock strength axle shafts from the bearing to the wheel.

35 spline from Currie, much larger axles

But doesn't it say it uses stock Toyota bearings, and brakes? If so, then it's OEM dimensions from the bearing outward. It's still going to bend the axle shaft.

Might not be, I am not well informed on the subject, just what a guy at the shop said.

You could have gotten 1 tons built-to-the-hilt front/rear with all bling for the price of one of those diamond axles :luvya:

Custom route is always cooler though...you can really get the axles as you want them...and they are probably a thousand pounds lighter too :D

Dude...seriously...somebody somewhere must be selling a used axle from a similar truck. You are complicating things too much lol.

But like I said earlier...if you are going to have hard fun on that truck just might want to bite the bullet and go the custom route. The 2 grand you have is a good starting point :D

I am really trying not to haha. Want all my shit to work and I want something stronger, in a reasonable budget. Didn't think I was asking too much. Just trying to find the right fit for me... which like a lot of Toyota stuff, seems to be a tall order. Maybe I need to fix it and start to think of a new alternative....

The highlighted sentence above...famous last words for all of us when we start modifying these trucks LOL. Reality is that reliable, stronger and cheaper rarely go together in the same transaction

Yea if you stick to the toyota stuff it is often a tall order.

Both are 8" Toyota misleadingly calls them 8 and 8.4

correct, but the thirds are totally different, 2pinion vs 4. neither are interchangeable. so calling it a 8 vs 8.4 helps with the confusion.
