? Honda Accords are $35k. This is pretty average pricing in the car industry now.

Back to the topic, I am wondering if simply putting some silicone would do the trick. I thought of this from a meat smoker grill mod. To get a tight seal on the lid of a smoker, some would put some silicone on the grill, then apply some vasoline on the lid where the silicone would touch (to prevent it from sticking). This would create a pretty tight seal. I might try this over the weekend.

The problem is that there are open holes cut into the storage bins to accommodate the hinges (on the bottom) and the latching mechanism (on the top). Yes, it's a terrible design! You really can't keep anything in them without corroding or just getting dirty filthy without some kind of protection (tupperware container, heavy duty dry bag, etc.).

I used the cubby covers from micwillia and they work awesome. I live in PNW and wash truck every week, no leaks, not even a drop. Plus they still breathe with the vent holes in cubby covers. Great addition and inexpensive. I highly recommend them.

OK, you've convinced me. I just ordered a set of MICWILLIA CUBBY COVERS.
    Thanks for making those available!

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, SOS rear bumper, SOS skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
I place all my ratchets in a tool bag and throw them behind the seat. Problem solved.

Same here. I have shackles and a strap in the left one and a couple ratchet straps in the right. Not a hint of rust or dust after a freaking wet winter.

Yes. The kit includes parts to seal the top slots, the lower inboard hinge slots, plugs for the outboard drain holes (I glued these in place), and the optional door gasket. At the same time, I added cam locks from Lowes.

I added the cubby covers from @micwillia recently also. An investment well worth it. He really put some thought into this addition.
